Chapter 6 - You think I’m a fool?

The manager had a shocked look on his face as he quickly said, "Young master, did I do something wrong?"

But I just ignored them as I looked at the rough looking men, waiting for a response.

They also had shocked looks on their faces as if they didn't expect me to suddenly ask them this.

However, one of them suddenly said, "Oi kid, do you really think that you can boss us around that easily?"

This one suddenly stood up and walked over before saying, "If you think that we'll just listen to what you have to say because a bit of…"

Before he could finish, I was already pointing at the ground beside the manager and there was a large pile of silver taels that appeared. But this time…it was ten times more than what had appeared on the table previously.

"Ten thousand silver taels, two thousand and five hundred silver taels per limb. I think that's quite a good price, don't you?" I said while looking at the rough looking man who had stepped up with a smile on my face.

He looked down at the money on the ground and then looked back up at me as if he was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not.

I didn't care as I just casually leaned back in my chair, as if his answer didn't matter to me.

But in the end…

"You think that you can just use money to…"

"Alright, I guess that's not enough." I didn't care about what he was saying as I sat back up again.

In a casual manner, I just pointed my finger on the ground again and said, "Then let's do this."

As soon as my voice fell, there was something else that appeared on the ground right next to the pile of silver taels. It was another pile of money, but this time…the colour was different.

Instead of silver, this time it was gold.

"Ten thousand gold taels, how about that?" I said in a very calm and casual voice.

This time, the rough looking man had a completely shocked look on his face since he never expected me to do something like this.

A tael of gold was a completely different concept from a tael of silver.

That was because a tael of gold was worth a hundred taels of silver.

So even though the number hadn't changed, by changing it to taels of gold instead of taels of silver, I had increased the price by a hundred times.

A million taels of silver…that was an amount that a normal person couldn't spend in their entire life and now I was offering them that just to break a person's arms and legs.

But it seemed like the rough looking man wasn't happy about this.

It was just that it didn't matter if he was happy or not as another member of their group suddenly stood up and walked forward. This person came forward and slapped this rough looking man on the back of the head.

That rough looking man looked back with a surprised look, but when he saw who it was, he immediately lowered his head and backed down.

It seemed that the one that had charged forward was just one of the junior members of this group who had a hot temper. The one that had slapped this one was the real leader of this group.

This was a calm looking person, though he did have a fierce face just like the others.

The leader of this group came forward and said, "This young master, it would be an honour to help you with this."

At this, the other men all stood up and surrounded the manager.

Though there were two of them that went over to collect the money that had been dropped on the ground.

I narrowed my eyes to look at this leader, but I just gave a nod in the end and turned back to look at the manager.

They held him up in front of me, as if they were waiting for me to say something.

The manager had been begging for forgiveness the entire time, though he didn't really seem to know what he had even done wrong in the first place.

"Young master, have I made some kind of mistake? I promise that I'll make up for it, please don't do this!"

I finally looked at the manager and said, "Do you take me for a fool?"

The manager was taken aback when he heard this before slowly shaking his head and saying in a confused voice, "Young master, I would never take you for a fool."

I narrowed my eyes to look at him as I said, "Is that so?"

The manager was even more confused when he heard this.

I just calmly pointed at the clothes that had been put on the side and asked, "Can you tell me that these are the best clothes you could have bought with the amount of money I gave you?"

This time, the manager suddenly trembled after hearing this.

He looked up at me and said in a stuttering voice, "This, this, young master, this really is the best that I could find. I don't know what you mean, mean by this."

I narrowed my eyes to look at him before saying, "Is that so."

Just this was more than enough to show that I already knew everything.

That was because when I had looked at these clothes, I had used the Appraisal Eyes that the system gave me.

This was a freebie that I had received from the system when I had appeared in this world and I had been testing it earlier when I saw what the manager did.

The Appraisal Eyes showed me the truth.

The clothes that the manager brought were nothing more than cheap imitations.

They looked fancy, but the materials used for them were nothing more than common cheap material that could be found all over.

He had wanted to pocket as much of the money that I gave him which was what caused his downfall.

He thought that he could fool me since I was just some poor looking kid, but I was anything but that.

I might be a prodigal, but that didn't mean that I would let people cheat me out of my money.
