When the next morning came, I brought the rabbit back out for Lin Li Zi.
The moment that she saw it, she immediately grabbed the cage out of my hand and hugged it in her arms. Then after hugging it for a bit, she poked her finger through the cage to tap the rabbit on the head like she was patting it.
After playing with the rabbit for a bit, she turned back to me to ask, "Big brother, can I really keep this as a pet?"
Seeing her cute excited appearance, I couldn't stop my heart from melting.
Patting her on the head, I said, "Of course, I got it for you. Make sure to take it wherever you go from now on since it'll keep you safe."
Lin Li Zi just gave an excited nod before saying, "I'll make sure to take care of it properly."
It was like she had completely ignored the second part of what I said.
While I was shaking my head with a bitter smile, she opened the cage and let the rabbit come out. She wanted to reach in to grab the rabbit, but she found that the rabbit came out on its own after seeing the cage open, so she didn't touch it in the end.
The rabbit just slowly bounced out of the cage before stopping in front of Lin Li Zi.
It turned to look at me and I gave a slight nod before it moved over to her.
Lin Li Zi just silently watched the rabbit as it came over to her and then it moved its head forward to nuzzle up against her leg.
The excited look on Lin Li Zi's face filled with even more excitement when she saw this.
After a moment of hesitation and a look at me for confirmation, seeing that I gave her a nod, she reached down to pick up the rabbit.
The rabbit didn't resist at all as it let her rub her face up against its stomach, though it looked like it wasn't happy about being treated like a toy like this.
After rubbing her face against it, patting it, and doing all kinds of things to it, Lin Li Zi finally let it go. Though even after separating from it, she didn't let it go completely as she held the rabbit in her arms.
The rabbit looked up at me as if it was asking for help, so I said with a faint smile, "I've also taught it a few tricks, do you want to see them?"
Lin Li Zi's eyes immediately lit up when she heard this and she quickly nodded in agreement before putting the rabbit down.
"Sit."
"Roll over."
"Play dead."
These were simple tricks that one might teach a dog, but the rabbit didn't have any problems following my order.
I didn't do this just to show Lin Li Zi these tricks, but also to teach her that this rabbit had intelligence.
Her eyes were sparkling as she saw the rabbit performing these tricks before she turned to me to ask, "What else can it do?"
I pretended to stroke my chin like I was thinking before saying, "It should be able to do most things since it understands what you're saying. As long as the order you give isn't too complicated, then it shouldn't have a problem following it."
Without any hesitation, Lin Li Zi immediately tested this out by saying, "Jump around in a circle."
After she said this, the rabbit didn't hesitate to follow her order.
Lin Li Zi tested it out with a few more commands that the rabbit easily followed, except for her last command.
"Jump to the moon!"
The rabbit just revealed an awkward stance as it stood there.
After all, it couldn't do something like that.
There was a moment where Lin Li Zi was disappointed, but she quickly recovered as she turned to hug me again. Hugging me tightly, she said, "Thank you big brother! I promise I'll take good care of it! I love you!"
I patted her on the head with a faint smile on my lips.
Our Li Zi was just too cute.
The lackeys had started gathering after hearing the commotion and they revealed different expressions.
The men didn't really seem to care that much about the rabbit's tricks, but the women had their hearts completely captured by the rabbit.
It was a cute little rabbit performing tricks, it was hard for them to resist this cute scene.
So they came over and surrounded the rabbit with Lin Li Zi.
They all looked like they wanted to grab the rabbit and smush their faces in it, but this time, the rabbit didn't stay still. When they tried to grab it, it easily jumped out of the way and avoided their hands.
It jumped all the way around them until it landed in Lin Li Zi's hand, only allowing her to hold it.
Lin Li Zi couldn't help looking a bit proud when she saw the rabbit in her hand like this, but eventually she patted it on the head and said, "Little rabbit, you should let the big sisters pet you."
The rabbit looked like it had been betrayed, but since it was Lin Li Zi's order, it had no choice but to follow.
It looked like it wanted to die as the hand of the female lackeys went all over it.
It even shot a look like it was asking for help towards me, but I just ignored it.
There was one person who seemed a bit annoyed that the rabbit was getting all this attention, so he said with a snort, "You should have just let me cook it yesterday. This thing will just eat our food and won't help out at all."
The rabbit's ears immediately perked up when it heard this before it jumped out of Lin Li Zi's hand to everyone's surprise.
Then an even more shocking thing happened.
There were shards of ice that suddenly gathered around the rabbit before forming large icicles in the air.
Once those large icicles had finished forming, they immediately shot out at the person who had spoken just now.
Standing under these large icicles falling down was Gao Fu Shuai who had just complained.
