Chapter 10 - New Jutsu

'I need to start my ninjutsu training. Once I am done with the three academy jutsus, then I can move forward with getting weights with seals to improve my physical workouts. Or should I also start working on Fuinjutsu? I am an Uzumaki after all.'

Renjiro's fascination with fuinjutsu had been a constant source of curiosity since he arrived in the world of Naruto.

He had always heard stories about the Uzumaki clan's proficiency in this complex and versatile branch of ninja techniques.

'No, there will be more time for studying seals. Plus, it is way more time-consuming as compared to Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. I'll just buy the weights.

I am probably around Five years younger than Kushina, so it will be better to find a way to learn Fuinjutsu from her since she was a prodigy instead of stumbling around on my own.

'Between the three academy jutsus, which should I first focus on? In terms of difficulty levels the Substitution Jutsu, also known as Kawarimi no Jutsu, should be easy.

While it requires quick reflexes and situational awareness, the basic principle of substituting oneself with an object or another person is relatively straightforward.

Its minimal chakra usage and the advantage of strategic repositioning are also a plus. However, the limited frequency of effective substitutions and the potential predictability as skilled opponents may anticipate its use of the technique and counter accordingly is a con.

The next option is the Clone Jutsu also known as Bunshin no Jutsu. While versatile, it is generally considered moderately challenging as it requires good chakra control and a thorough understanding of the technique. The good thing is I have larger chakra reserves than my peers, at least that's what I have sensed from my classmates.

Apart from diversion during fights, this can help me increase the potency of my training, just like Naruto, but I'll need the multi-shadow clone jutsu.

Not sure if Miwa can teach it to me. But teaching such a jutsu to an academy student is crazy. I will just have to bid my time on it. How I am going to get it is a problem for future me.

The only other drawback apart from large chakra consumption is the fragility of the shadow clones created. Maybe I can come up with a way to create solid clones. That would be more Legendary than the Hiraishin.

The last one is the Transformation jutsu, otherwise known as Henge no Jutsu, which is often considered the most challenging among the three. It requires not only precise hand signs and chakra control but also a keen understanding of the form or person being mimicked.

Maintaining the transformation convincingly can be mentally taxing, and the risk of scrutiny by observant individuals adds an extra layer of complexity.

The Jutsu can also be used to deceive enemies by appearing as an ally or concealing one's identity evidenced by what Naruto did in the Chunin exams preliminary battle against Kiba.

Sustaining the transformation would not be much of a hurdle but if I meet someone with keen observation skills or even Dojutsus like the Byakugan, it will be hard to fool them.

I have already prioritised them in terms of my perceived difficulty. I will have to begin with the Substitution Jutsu.'

With that, Renjiro decided to ask for the necessary scroll from the Library and headed to his yard to begin his training.

In a quiet corner of his training area, Renjiro had a scroll laid out before him. With a deep breath, he turned his attention to the scroll containing instructions for Kawarimi no Jutsu.

The instructions were precise, a step-by-step guide to mastering the essence of the jutsu. The learning process was simplified into three steps. They were the Hand signs, Visualization and finally timing and precision.

He focused on the crucial section that detailed the hand signs required for the jutsu. The required hand signs were Tiger- Horse- Dog- Rat- Bird. The sequence was critical, each sign flowing seamlessly into the next.

Renjiro studied the illustrations, recognizing the intricate movements required. The challenge lay in both speed and precision, as the Substitution Technique demanded rapid execution in the heat of battle.

'Damn, It has five hand signs. I never saw anyone in the anime performing the hand signs.'

With unwavering determination, Renjiro mimicked the hand signs, repeating them again and again until the fluidity of his movements improved.

The next step emphasized visualization, which was the most important one of all. Renjiro closed his eyes and envisioned the environment around him—the rustling leaves, the breeze against his skin, and the sounds of his training area.

This mental preparation was crucial. The Substitution Technique required more than mere physical agility; it required a deep connection with the surroundings.

He imagined an attacker and envisioned the precise moment when evasion was necessary. This mental rehearsal was a vital component of the jutsu.

The next and final step was timing and Precision. Renjiro knew that the success of the Substitution Technique hinged on this last step.

He practised the hand signs with increased fervour, refining his movements to an acceptable degree. As he repeated the signs, the chakra within him surged, like a coiled spring ready to release.

For his first attempt, Renjiro decided to switch places with a dry twig that was a couple of meters in front of him.

"Puff!" Renjiro seemingly exploded in a ball of smoke

Renjiro actually succeeded in his first attempt! It all happened in a blink of an eye! He was standing where the dry twig was minutes ago. It was a bit disorienting but nothing too serious.

'I thought I would have to try it more than once to succeed like the chakra control exercises, I guess I am a little bit talented,' Renjiro Pondered.

'Still, the time I am using with the hand signs is too much. I need to reduce the time to at least two or three Hand signs before the end of the day.'

Minutes turned into Hours as Renjiro dedicated himself to mastering the Substitution Jutsu. With each attempt, he felt himself drawing closer to the moment of a seamless transition.

He knew that the true test would come in the field when a split-second decision could mean the difference between survival and failure.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Renjiro set the scroll aside, a glimmer of confidence in his eyes. He was not yet a master of the technique, but he had taken the first crucial steps on his journey.

He had managed to get a hang of the Jutsu in the four hours that he practised. He had also managed to reduce the hand signs required to only four hand signs.

He had built up some resistance to the nausea brought about by performing the jutsu. Unfortunately, resistance was not immunity.

One thing he was sure of was, that he would be over the nausea by the time he managed to perform the jutsu with one or two hand signs.

'Welp, better call this a day. It took longer than I thought and actually ate into my chakra nature transformation training time. I better keep practising it to raise it to an acceptable level.'
