I watched as my dad's car sped away from me. He'll drop my sister off next that's for sure. Turning back I looked at the entrance of my school...
Maple Wood Academy
It's one of the best school and college in not so small and not so big town Pinecrest. I can say it's decent based on me going here for the last 6 months....Which reminds me midterms are coming soon..
Quietly sighing, I stepped Inside the academy which seemed lively like usual. I quickly scanned my surroundings and noticed few new faces. They had a different school uniform from what I was wearing — navy blue trousers paired with a crisp white dress shirt and a navy blue blazer.
I couldn't make out their faces as I was far-sighted but I could tell they were probably transfer students we had heard about just before the summer break. Well I guess I have more people to look out for.
I took out my glasses from one of my inner blazer pockets before putting them on. 'Much better,' everything seems clear to me now. I then strode toward my classroom, there were a lot of students with seemingly endless energy which I was quite envious of.
I pulled out my phone to check the time — 7:45am . 15 Minutes before classes start, plenty of time for me to take care of some unfinished business.
— Phat!
Before I could do anything else, I heard a loud sound followed by a stinging pain on my back. I looked back to see a guy with brown hair, crooked teeth and very strong smell of cologne which almost made me gag.
"Ouch"
"Long time no see man! How was the summer vacation? Did you see the new movie that came out? Did you play the gam-"
"Slow down dude, I am listening, it's not like I'll disappear into oblivion."
"Uh- sorry hehehe. Man I am so excited to be back to schoo-"
"We have midterms next week. Why are so excited to be here. Maybe trouble at hom-"
"Anyways I gotta go and greet all my buddies." Ryan Gosling said as he sped off into the distance till he disappeared. I took out my phone and checked the time again — 7:51am.
"..."
How in the world did that take 6 minute-
"Edward head in your class" I looked back only to see Miss Brooklyn our homeroom teacher with books and files in her hands. She had a petite body and wore a simple cyan shiftdress. She had short black hair that reached her shoulder and wore glasses just like me.
"Hm? There's 9 more minutes left till classes start."
"I know, but today I'll start early."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, REALLY."
"Ahem, If you don't mind me..." As I was about to head to the opposite direction, I felt a tug at my shoulder and a second later I was facing my classroom and was pushed inside.
I looked back at miss Brooklyn asking her with my eyes asking what's the meaning of this? She simply shrugged and replied "My class my rules."
With a defeated sigh I went to the last row and sat down at a desk near the window sat down. I was currently seated at bottom right of the classroom and I closed my eyes. 'Ok...this might take a while but... for now it has to wait.'
For the next couple of hours, class after class went by, with nothing notable happening, except for Ryan and his friends being called out for struggling with the basics of a math problem, especially with midterms looming on the horizon.
However, what truly piqued my interest were the rumors swirling about the new transfer students.
"Hey, did you hear? The new transfer students are from SUMMIT HILL ACADEMY!?"
"What? No way, really? Summit Hill Academy?"
"Yeah, I heard they're something else. Did you see that blond guy? Apparently, he single-handedly took on four of our best basketball club members and won!"
After the student said those words, I heard an irritated 'Tsk' coming from the direction behind Ryan's desk. "That coward ran away when I confronted him." Ignoring the guy I focused again.
"Seriously? That's insane!"
"And did you catch a glimpse of that red-haired girl?"
"Of course, she's stunning! She looks like she stepped right out of a movie. I wouldn't be surprised if she's secretly an actress or something."
"Right? It's like every transfer student this year is perfect—looks, academics, personality. And they all come from well-off families. What are they doing here, joining our shabby school?"
The murmurs of excitement and speculation echoed through the Classroom of 30 students, adding a buzz of anticipation to the otherwise mundane day.
As the rumors spread like wildfire, students exchanged excited whispers and curious glances, eager to catch a glimpse of the mysterious newcomers.
I had my eyes closed, absorbing every rumor until...
"Quiet!" Miss Brooklyn's voice shattered the chatter, her glare sweeping over each of us before she continued.
"Midterms are next week. Next week! And none of you could solve the problems on..." I tuned out her rant about our class's performance. Once she finished, she announced that a new transfer student would be joining us starting tomorrow.
"Who's joining us?" asked one of the students. I wasn't surprised to see that it was Ryan.
"Hmm... I think Valentina... Valentina Rose was her name?"
"Hell yeah, a girl!" Almost every boy in the class erupted in excitement, while the girls sighed, probably wishing it was the blond guy instead.
"Quiet!" Miss Brooklyn's sharp command cut through the noise. "As you might have guessed, she's that red-haired girl. I want none of you to bother her or make her uncomfortable."
Her gaze lingered on Ryan and his group of friends for a few seconds longer before they nodded in understanding.
"Okay, with that, class is dismissed!"
