Lisa stood in shock as she stared at her sister, a painful memory resurfacing.
It was from seven years ago, on her fourteenth birthday.
She had received a gift card from the grocery store she frequented for the family and it had been a ticket for two to an ice rink.
Esther had insisted on taking Lisa to the rink and Lisa had been happy to go because Esther had just gotten her licence and could drive them there.
They had made their way to the ice rink but to Lisa's shock, Esther's boyfriend had been waiting for them at the ice rink.
As soon as they arrived, Esther took the tickets from Lisa and forced her out of the car.
It was the middle of winter and Lisa had no warm enough clothes.
She begged her sister to at least let her stay in the car but her sister had refused and told her to wait by the car till she and her boyfriend returned.
And so, she had happily turned her back on Lisa, leaving her to die or survive in the cold alone.
