Cian's Final Days
Part 1
Cian was weak. She did not even have the strength to move a finger let alone get out of bed. Rainbow Brite was on one side of her bed and Janice was on the other side. All the color kids were there with their families. Krys was on the other side of Rainbow, holding her hand. The children were playing in the hall. Cian could hear their laughter.
"Mom?" asked Rainbow softly, "Are you okay?"
"I am fine, dear." Cian replied. "I am just remembering the good times."
"Can you tell us about them?"
"Yes."
Part 2
Cian was a young teen. She was emotionally abused by her parents. Her mother neglected her and her father just ignored her. One day, her father called all her brothers and sisters together. He pointed to Cian and said "Of all my kids, you are my least favorite." Mom just ignored these comments just like she ignored Cian. She wanted to be loved by her parents; however they couldn't find it in their heart to do so. Because of this Cian was a very cold girl.
Then a young man started showing up at the house. His name was Auburn. He was a mechanic for the air force. Cian hated him at first. She would tell mean jokes at his expense. She would laugh in his face, and do other mean things to him.
Then on a particularly bad day Cian confronted Auburn.
"Why do you keep coming here?" she asked. "No one likes you anyway."
"I come because I like you." He replied.
Cian was shocked. No one liked her not even her parents.
"I am sorry." She said. "Lets start over, I am Cian."
"Okay," Auburn laughed.
Part 3
Cian was all dressed up. It was her wedding day. Cian peeked out of the dressing room to see all the guests.
"Come on, Cian!" Her sister pleaded. Her sister was the only one of her family to show up at Cian's wedding. "You don't want Auburn to see you."
"Okay." Cian giggled.
Cian only invited a few of her friends to her wedding. The rest of the guests were Auburn's friends and family. It was a small ceremony. There were only maybe 300 guests. Cian did not care. She was happy that Auburn had proposed. He was so nervous when he did it, too.
Suddenly, organ music began to play the wedding march.
"Cian, you're on!" Her sister squealed.
The door to the dressing room opened. Cian began the long walk down the aisle. She saw Auburn and blushed madly. She still couldn't believe he loved her.
Part 4
Cian was working on crocheting an afghan when she felt her first contraction. She was 39 weeks pregnant. She was large with child. This day was a long time coming. Cian felt truly at peace. She had found out months earlier that she was going to have a girl and she was having trouble picking out a name for the baby. She did not want a common name. Her baby was unique and deserved a special name.
The Baby moved.
"Soon." Cian said to the baby. Then she felt another contraction. Cian could not wait to see her beautiful baby. She was predicting great things for the child. Cian was late in pregnancy and did not want to go over her time. So the doctors scheduled her to be induced in a few days. The baby had other ideas. As she was crocheting the afghan, Cian kept feeling contractions. They were so intense that she decided to go to the bathroom. There she saw blood. Cian woke her husband, and he took her to the hospital. She got there too late to receive any painkillers. So she had to go through natural childbirth. It did not matter. The baby was worth it. When she came out she had a wisp of hair on her head.
"Wow!" Cian exclaimed. "Look at that wisp of hair! 'Wisp' that can be her name. Hello, Wisp."
Dominos Kingdom
Welcome to Dominos Kingdom.
King Bubba rules this land.
Prince Albert protects the kingdom.
And Cheese Nip protects the sacred cheese.
Every year, King Bubba presents the sacred cheese to his wife, for their anniversary.
One night, the evil Mighty Mouth, slipped a potion in Cheese Nip's soda to forcing him fall asleep.
As poor Cheese Nip slept, Mighty Mouth stole the Sacred cheese, taking it to his hideout in Green Bay.
Prince Albert left the kingdom, to find the sacred cheese
Tracking it to the evil Villain's Lair.
The two fought a great battle, but in the end Prince Albert was the winner and Mighty Mouth was the loser.
Upon returning to the Kingdom, King Bubba threw a party in Prince Albert's honor
… and they all lived happily ever after.
The Future Of Zen
Mary was the daughter of a smelly old man from across the lake. The man was mean and cruel. Nothing she did was ever good enough for him. "You're doing it wrong!" was all he ever said to her. That constant mantra hurt her soul to the point where she had ceased to function. Her confidence had taken a bad hit. Mary was determined to survive. She was stubborn and would make it at all costs.
With great care, Mary worked the soil. She had already survived 1 year. If she could survive one year, she could survive more. The smelly old man from across the lake was gone and could no longer affect her life anymore. Through all her hard work, Mary taught herself that it wasn't as difficult as the smelly old man made it seem. Mary felt positive & worthy.
Mary rooted around in her Zen garden. Moving the soil and watching green things grow provided a sense of peace. Mary needed peace. She had worked herself to the brink of collapse trying to survive on her own. One clod of dirt didn't seem like just dirt. Puzzled, she grabbed ahold and pulled. It was a rock. She tossed it to the side. Mary noticed a small patch of clover and decided to try her luck. She bent to search. AHA! A four-leaf-clover. "It's going to be a great year." Mary's mother had taught her that four-leaf clovers were good luck, Mary plucked the small sprig. Last year had been difficult, but this year can only be better. Mary placed the clover in her bonnet. Later, when she went inside to tidy up, she would press the clover in her favorite book. That book would radiate luck and positive energy. The positive energy would bring prosperity. It was going to be a good year.
Mary dressed and prepared herself to go to dinner. She had a date with a local man. It would be Mary's first date since moving to the area. The locals didn't know her and tried to send her back to her strange ways. Her perseverance had won them most of the way over. She still had some distance to go before she would be fully accepted. At least one man had come around. Mary could see herself building a future in the area. Mary put on her sunglasses. She picked up her keys and exited the house.
Before leaving, Mary passed the fenced in Zen garden and smiled. The future looked bright and sunny indeed.
