Chereads / This Journey to the West is so wrong! / Chapter 5 - Getting out of the forest

Chapter 5 - Getting out of the forest

"Sun Wukong! Slow down!"

"Humans have always been weak, no matter how many they live years, haven't they?" Sun Wukong sighed, waiting for me.

Oh, I may be weak, but that doesn't mean you can treat me like that!

But why haven't we gotten out of this forest yet? How big and vast is this forest?

By now, the sky was beginning to darken, the approaching night making it difficult for me to see into the distance.

Fortunately, Sun Wukong's fire on his arm provided some reassurance, though there was a powerful monkey beside a god walking with me.

"I think this place is suitable for a stop!" Sun Wukong sat down on the ground and looked up at the sky.

I picked up some branches and tossed them at Sun Wukong's face.

"W-What?! What are you doing??"

"Look at you being so lazy, I did that to make you pay more attention to tending the fire."

"It doesn't mean you can throw things in my face, Tang Sanzang!"

Sun Wukong angrily picked up pieces of wood and turned them into a campfire.

"Are you satisfied now? If you do that again, I'll beat you to death!"

Sun Wukong pouted and then continued to sit down, gazing up at the sky.

'Sun Wukong is much gentler than I thought, despite her temper, this monkey seems more patient; I thought she would get angry and prepare to kill me by now.'

Well, if you're curious, I'm experimenting with this monkey.

To be honest, at first, I didn't dare to do those disrespectful things with Sun Wukong, but seeing her forgive me many times made me decide to give it a try.

Currently, I'm not very clear about this Sun Wukong in this world. Although there are some similarities with the Sun Wukong I know, there are many differences.

The Sun Wukong I know is fierce and very daring, only becoming gentler when he went to retrieve the scriptures with Tang Sanzang.

But what about this side? From what I can observe, this monkey... seems carefree and naive. Its arrogance is somewhat cute, and its violence is rarely expressed. Could it be because this Sun Wukong is female?

Well, I'm not sure, but currently, based on what I know, the development between me and this monkey is starting to resemble Journey to the West.

Sigh, although having this back-and-forth with this monkey is a bad idea, especially since I'm not even Tang Sanzang, but when she gave me that name, I feared my fate would be as difficult as the original Tang Sanzang's, even though there isn't much evidence for that yet.

Also, this world is very strange to me, and I almost died because of a wolf. I know this world is very dangerous, but luckily, I unsealed this monkey because she's incredibly powerful and has rescued her master multiple times in the movie.

That's the only way to protect my life and... live with this beautiful girl isn't such a bad idea.

"If the real Tang Sanzang were here, he'd probably dropkick me in the face..."

I continue sighed, watching Sun Wukong yawning.

"Hey, Wukong."

"Hmm? What's up?" she replied, somewhat drowsily.

"I want to hear your story."

"WHAT?! YOU WANT TO HEAR MY STORY?!" Sun Wukong's face lit up with excitement. She truly loved to boast about her achievements.

"Yeah" I smiled, looking at her sparkling eyes.

"Alright then! My story begins with..."

And so, I listened to her story for a few minutes before drifting off to sleep.

"Sun Wukong, I think we're about to leave the forest!"

"Hehe, do you trust my direction now?"

"Never again."

"Huh?? Why?"

"Because the way out of the forest turns out to be right behind your seal, and yet we've been wandering around this forest for 2-3 days!!"

Upon leaving the forest, I had to find a way to get a map, or else this monkey would lead me astray. Otherwise, we might stumble upon the treasure of the pirate king!

"D-Do you underestimate my navigation skills?!"

"Why bother underestimating when your navigation skills are already futile?"

"Y-You just wait! I'll prove to you why I'm the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!" Sun Wukong's face filled with embarrassment as she hastily left the forest ahead of me.

'Haizz Sun Wukong getting lost is just like some green-haired swordsman I know'

I hurriedly chased after Sun Wukong.

In front of me was an old gate covered in vines and surrounded by overgrown foliage. Light flickered at the gate, making me squint as I passed through it. And what greeted me was...

"Hand over all your belongings if you want to live!" Five bandits stood before me.

Sun Wukong was beside me, looking at them as if they were clowns.

Each bandit wore a piece of cloth tied around their neck, each with a different color. The one in the middle wore red, the hefty one wore black, the skinny one wore green, the one with hair... difficult to describe as yellow, and the one in pink underwear.

"What is this? Seems like some kind of Fabulous Five superhero team?" (Power rangers)

Why is there nothing normal here?
