POV: Third Person.
Uninhabited Planet, Unknown Galaxy.
Current Time.
It was the first time this lifeless, uninhabited planet witnessed a storm. A vast vortex of dark clouds filled the sky, creating an apocalyptic scene in that desolate place. The winds were so powerful they uprooted massive rocks and trees from the ground. Every few seconds, lightning bolts struck not at random locations, but at the center of the storm's origin, bathing the body of the Sun God.
A little further away from all this, the Dark Elf King, in his imposing black armor, holding his sword, could only watch. His subordinates, now under his control, seemed like lifeless puppets, merely awaiting their master's command.
The tumultuous event didn't last long before calm ensued. All that destruction simply vanished; the winds ceased to blow, and the lightning ceased to strike from the sky. Even the clouds dispersed, revealing the scant sunlight the planet possessed. It was a perfect example of the phrase: "The calm before the storm."
"Let's end this, Malekith!"
Baldur's voice once again stirred the tempest. Like a great explosion, dark clouds covered the entire planet in a massive cyclone. Powerful winds formed thousands of tornadoes across the planet. Thunderbolts illuminated the sky, and lightning bolts fell like raindrops.
And amidst it all stood Baldur. His wounds were completely healed, his armor remade, but instead of its usual golden hue, the armor was now gray with various golden accents, without his cape.
His short hair now reached his waist, dancing in the air as if alive, a beautiful sight to behold, as they shimmered in gold. His once golden eyes sparkled with the power of thunder, an intimidating sight, but his current appearance paled in comparison to the hammer he held. Mjolnir now had a ring of golden flames surrounding its head. It was as if Mjolnir had become a celestial body, emitting a halo of pure flames.
"Thousands of years of planning have paid off. I never expected to find someone so worthy to die by my hands!" exclaimed the Elf King in pure delight.
Then he pointed his black sword at his beloved enemy and shouted with all his might.
"Kill the Sun God!"
His puppets rushed to carry out his command. The first to reach his target was the living armor Kurse. He leaped and landed a few inches from Baldur. Once a red armor with beautiful details, he was now just a black armor.
"BOOM!"
The living armor unleashed a powerful punch against its enemy. The blow was so mighty that it sounded like an explosion when it was only defended by Baldur's palm, which didn't budge an inch from where it stood. Using only his fingers, Baldur crushed a part of the enormous glove of the living armor and pulled with force, ripping off his enemy's entire arm. Even without a hand, and unable to feel pain, Kurse attempted to attack with his other arm, but he was too slow for the god who possessed the divinity of light and thunder.
"BOOOM!"
Mjolnir struck the armor's face with an explosion of flames and lightning that destroyed everything around it. Kurse, struck on the chin, was launched upwards, breaking the sound barrier and crossing the atmosphere towards space until he collided with the moon orbiting that planet, destroying a significant portion of it.
The next to attack was the Ogre King. There weren't many changes in his body, except for his color and weapon. Despite increasing his strength, unfortunately, he didn't enhance his speed or intelligence. Baldur was no longer on the defensive as before. He sprinted towards the ogre, releasing bolts of lightning from his body. Upon reaching the Ogre, he leaped and struck Mjolnir right on top of its skull, unleashing another explosion of flames and lightning around it in a powerful blast.
Before confirming the ogre's demise, Baldur twisted his body to the side just in time to dodge a whip of black flames. Sindr, once a demon covered in red flames, changed color to black flames. Seeing her attack miss, she once again attempted to strike with her whip of black flames. Her attacks were faster than sound, but all were being dodged by the King who was just waiting for the right moment to approach.
Then, on her next attack, he grabbed the black whip with his bare hands. The black flames engulfed his entire hand, but he ignored the pain and twisted his body, swinging the hammer which collided against Malekith's black sword attacking his back. Unlike the previous encounters, there was no explosion of flames or lightning. The Dragonfang had the ability to absorb magic and break barriers; these abilities were amplified by the Dreamstone. If Mjolnir were a simple weapon, it could have been damaged. But since it wasn't, the two strikes seemed to simply cancel each other out, causing the elf to stagger backward.
"Don't forget about me, my handsome king!" He shouted, pointing his free hand at Baldur and shooting several black rays towards him. Still holding onto the burning whip, he pulled it with all his strength, causing the ash queen to fly and stand in front of him like a living shield protecting him from the magic.
As her body fell to the ground, Mjolnir was already flying towards the Elf, surrounded by golden flames like a meteor. The dark elf struck it with his sword canceling its power and protecting himself.
However, he became distracted long enough for Baldur to create several spears made of pure energy. A move he had made several times before using his manipulation of light, now he was doing it using lightning. The spears were white, with their blades burning with golden flames. With a hand gesture, they all shot forward, piercing Malekith's body in a flash of light.
"It's over!" Baldur spoke, relaxing when he saw the elf's body with coin-sized holes all over it fall to the ground. He relaxed at the sight, but remained alert. From his side, a shadow tried to grab him, but Baldur was quicker and managed to step back, facing the attacker.
"I didn't disintegrate you?" he questioned in shock.
The one who attacked him was none other than the Ogre King. The previous attack was so powerful that it should have turned him to dust. Yet here he was once again, fully healed, facing him.
"I guess you finally understand," Malekith said.
Malekith, bleeding on the ground, stood up with his wounds healing at high speed to Baldur's shock. Then Sindr, who was hit head-on by the elf's magic, also rose from the ground conjuring a sword of black flames and assuming a combat stance.
"Were they all already dead the moment they were consumed?" Baldur asked, shocked by the revelation.
"Correct. They're just my puppets now," confirmed the elf.
Sindr and Malekith attacked together with their swords. Baldur used his injured hand to grab the sword of black flames, once again ignoring the pain, and defended himself with the hammer against Malekith's blow. The three stood motionless, measuring their strengths, but the Ogre King ran at Baldur and attempted to strike his head with the club. With both arms occupied, Baldur then released Mjolnir. Instead of falling to the ground, it hovered in the air, still defending against the elf's attack. With one hand now free, he grabbed the club coming towards his head. With a bit of force, the metal spiked ball broke, and with his free hand, Baldur then unleashed a burst of energy from his hand, exploding the ogre's head.
Baldur then turned his gaze to Sindr and fired two energy beams from his eyes, piercing her skull. Then, a golden flame explosion around his body forced Malekith to retreat.
Baldur then retrieved Mjolnir, and from the sky, several spears made of pure energy fell onto the Ash Queen's body, which was already rising from the ground, restraining her. The voltage of the spears electrified Sindr's body, halting her movements. And if that wasn't enough, they also attracted the lightning from the clouds above, which continued to strike her body.
"If I can't kill them, I just need to inflict constant damage to their bodies," he said, smiling at the elf.
With another swing of Mjolnir, a wave of golden flames struck the Ogre King's body, who had already recovered his head. The flames were adjusted to burn the ogre's body faster than it could heal, turning him into an eternal golden candle.
"Two down!" he shouted, firing lightning at Malekith, forcing him to retreat.
Then, from above, reentering the planet's atmosphere, a meteor was falling. But with the vision of a god, Baldur could clearly see the living armor Kurse falling at high speed. After recovering from the blow that sent him to the moon, the armor simply leaped off it, letting gravity do its job.
Unlike the other two enemies, this one felt no pain and couldn't be stopped by flames or electricity. So Baldur reached his hand up as if trying to grasp the sky.
The vortex of black clouds charged with power swirling in the air then began to take shape. Kurse, who was still in free fall, passed through the black clouds, with only a few thousand meters left to reach the ground. But the black clouds had already reshaped themselves into the desired form of their master.
Now, the once vortex of black clouds transformed into a colossal hand following Baldur's movements. He simply extended his hand and closed it, grabbing Kurse before he even hit the ground.
The colossal hand then pulled the living armor into the sky and once again transformed into a vortex. This time, with a living armor trapped inside it, constantly being struck by lightning and winds that prevented it from hitting the ground.
"And now, three down!" he said with great joy.
He twisted his body and shot towards Malekith at high speed, who defended his attack with a black shield of magic.
"Now it's just you!" Baldur attacked again, shattering the elf's magical shield and forcing him to retreat. Mjolnir was raised above his head and then struck the ground, which began to tremble.
Malekith was taken by surprise as the ground beneath him exploded like a volcano of golden flames. His body was thrown into the air only to be struck by a lightning bolt that pierced his torso, destroying half of it. Even in the air, with an open wound, he still managed to twist his body and fire black magical rays at Baldur, who defended himself with Mjolnir.
When the elf returned to the ground, his huge chest wound was completely healed. But he was startled when he realized he had lost sight of Baldur.
Baldur, on the other hand, was already behind him, and with a low blow of Mjolnir, he shattered the black elf's two legs, causing him to fall face-first to the ground. The King of Genosha raised the hammer, ready for a blow with all his strength.
As he struck, aiming for the body, Malekith turned, facing upward, and defended the blow using the blade of the Dragonfang.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!"
The explosion didn't occur where the King of Genosha was. It happened on the other half of the planet.
The force of the blow caused Malekith to traverse all the layers of the planet's soil and be thrown to the other side of it. The shockwave of the blow followed him, destroying half of the planet. Now once a planet, it was transformed into just a massive continent floating in space.
Baldur spun the hammer's handle and, like his brother, used its throw to fly towards the direction his enemy was thrown. He traversed through all the meteors created due to the planet's explosion, searching for Malekith.
After a minute of searching, his face became worried. He got carried away in the moment and didn't consider the possibility of the elf attempting to flee. In their previous conversation, he confirmed that only the Aether could save him. But the elf might have other tricks up his sleeve.
Continuing his search, he began to drift farther and farther from the planet they were on. Finally, he reached the edge of that solar system. In a large belt of meteorites, he stopped and looked at the solar system with more than a dozen planets, trying to guess where his enemy had hidden.
At that moment, behind the sun god, within a meteorite-like mist, Malekith formed once again and attacked Baldur from behind.
Baldur was on full alert, expecting a surprise attack, and turned around. But even so, he couldn't evade completely, as the elf used magic to approach him. The Dragonfang pierced his chest, missing his heart by a few inches. Baldur grabbed Malekth's wrist and released Mjolnir.
With his free hand, in a swift motion, he severed the black elf's wrist and then kicked him away. After removing the sword from his body, he threw it as far as he could.
"How long are we going to continue this senseless fight? You cannot kill, and using two divinities at the same time is a great burden on your body," the elf spoke telepathically, standing in front of him, his hand already fully healed. But the Dragonfang was thrown too far away, so he could only conjure a purple sword to continue the fight.
"It's true that using two divinities is proving to be quite problematic, but I think I'm getting the hang of it!" Baldur smiled, looking up. And Malekith also followed suit, finally noticing his surroundings.
"No. This is impossible!" he exclaimed in panic.
Above the two of them was a storm, unlike any storm. It was composed of golden and black clouds. The most frightening aspect of it all was its size; not even the solar system they were in before compared in size. The only reason Malekith hadn't noticed such an event was because the storm was in its calm state.
(T/N: Author about to hit us with another nerf after all this ðŸ˜)
But when Baldur grasped Mjolnir again, the storm awakened. Winds so powerful they literally knocked the planets out of the orbit of the solar system they were in.
Thunderbolts so large, robust, and strong they could easily destroy moons. The most terrifying aspect of this event was the thunder; every time it occurred, space trembled in fear.
"It took quite some time for me to understand how to use Thor's power at its peak," he said proudly of his accomplishment.
"It doesn't matter. Even if you turn my body to dust, I'll simply regenerate, as long as the Dreamstone is functioning, I am immortal!" roared the elf.
"You should pay more attention to your body, Malekith."
Then following Baldur's gaze once again, now looking at his chest, he saw the Dreamstone lodged in place of his heart, but the stone, once blue, is now black.
"It took quite some time to find a way to use the power of All-Black without you noticing; it was too risky to use it openly. I didn't know if this magic jewel could heal you; I never used it to deal with magical artifacts. So I infused small amounts of it into your body with each of my blows, hoping to catch you by surprise."
Malekith didn't understand what the King of Genosha meant, but he realized that the Dreamstone had been corrupted, and for the first time, the face of the King of the Dark Elves showed panic and fear.
"Do you think you can kill me? I am Malekith the Accursed, Lord of the Wild Hunt and King of the Dark Elves!" he shouted almost hysterically.
Baldur paid no heed to what his enemy was saying. He simply raised Mjolnir, and the colossal clouds above him twisted, preparing for the next strike.
"And I am..."
He began calmly as he lowered the hammer.
"Baldur Odinson, The God of Cosmic Storms!"
Mjolnir descended, and the lightning followed. Unlike the others he had wielded before, this one had the power to obliterate the entire Earth in a single blow. The other difference? Its golden hue. The golden lightning struck Malekith, disintegrating him without any resistance, and then continued its path, destroying anything that dared to obstruct it.
