POV: Baldur.
Harlem, New York.
2011.
It didn't take long to get here and find the reason for all the destruction. It was just a matter of following the immense trail of destruction and going in the opposite direction of the civilians running in panic. The source of all the screams and explosions was a giant.
The giant resembled a zombie from the old Resident Evil movies, its skin revealing bones throughout its entire body, lacking any hair, and only wearing a piece of blue cloth, probably the remnants of its clothes, covering its lower parts. The Abomination, one of the failed results of the American army's attempt to recreate the super soldier serum, stood in the middle of the street surrounded by abandoned cars, roaring and reveling in the fear of those running in panic. Across the street, I saw a military jeep, one of the soldiers inside it aiming an RPG at the Abomination's back and firing.
As if it had eyes in the back of its head, the Abomination turned and caught the missile fired by the soldiers, smiling as it looked at the missile, then hitting it on its own head, causing it to explode. The explosion didn't even make it flinch. Then it started running towards the soldiers like a steamroller, knocking aside cars in its path as if they were toys. The soldiers in the jeep were smart, they began reversing, trying to escape the monster in front of them. Unfortunately, the jeep collided with the rear of an abandoned car, halting them.
The Abomination stood in front of the jeep, smiling maniacally. Beside it, a taxi that was racing couldn't stop in time and crashed into its feet. It then lifted the taxi above its head, ready to crush the military jeep.
"I want a real fight!" It shouted.
Before the taxi could crush the jeep, I leaped from the roof of a nearby building and landed on the hood of the military jeep. With one hand, I stopped the taxi, but it was a mistake. When I halted the taxi, the force of the impact crushed the front, pushing all that metal onto the terrified taxi driver. To prevent his death, I created two beams of golden light from above that cut the car at the rear and front, leaving only the driver's seat intact, which fell to the ground. The Abomination stood still, trying to understand everything that was happening, but I didn't give it time. I jumped off the jeep and punched it squarely in the jaw, making it drop what remained of the taxi and taking a few steps back.
"Not bad for a puny human. You'll make a good appetizer before the main course," the Abomination said, touching its chin. It had been drilled that the Hulk was the most powerful living creature, and yet this idiot thought he was now on par with him.
(He reminds me of that Chinese saying about the frog in the well)
"HAAAAAAAA!"
Its advance was brutal and unskilled, as if it had forgotten all its training as a soldier, or perhaps it thought that with its level of strength, any skill was unnecessary. In a way, it was right, any action or plan against overwhelming force is futile, but it still had a long way to go.
With soldiers behind me, I couldn't dodge its charge, so I dodged its first punch and grabbed its arm, twisting my body in a judo move and throwing the giant to the side, making it crash into a car. With its weight, it sank into the car then. I stepped on its face, causing the car to explode. Of course, the explosion didn't affect either of us. I felt a large hand grabbing my ankle, the Abomination threw me, making me crash through a window of a nearby house.
"BAM!"
It burst through the entrance with its huge body and came towards me. It was too big for the small house, making it a bit difficult for it to move, and I used that to my advantage. I dodged its arms trying to grab me and positioned myself behind its back, kicking its knee to make it bend. Then, I grabbed its neck from behind and delivered a knee strike right in the center of its spine.
"AAAAAAAAH!"
Its size and resistance prevented me from breaking its spine, unfortunately, but it surely hurt a lot. When I was about to deliver another blow, it twisted itself, lowering its torso and throwing me forward. I rolled on the ground, and as I faced it again, I saw a fist coming towards me. I defended myself by crossing my arms in an X in front of me, but the blow sent me crashing through the opposite wall of the house, back onto the street.
By my side, I see an empty car, so I grab it and throw it against the wall of the house I just left.
"BOOM!"
The car explodes, and flames engulf the entire house. Abomination opens another huge hole in the wall as he exits the house and kicks me in the middle of my body. I jump and use his leg as a springboard, spinning my body to land a kick right on his face. The blow was precise, but lacked strength. Before hitting the ground, he grabs me and slams me down, causing the ground to crack beneath me. With his other hand, he grabs a large piece of the road destroyed by the impact and smashes it into me. Then he makes the mistake of letting me go and tries to stomp on me. I roll to the side and get up.
A light falls upon us, causing both of us to pause our fight. In the sky, there's a military helicopter, from which I see a human body falling and hitting the ground with such force that it pierces through the asphalt.
"Here we go."
It doesn't take long for the ground to explode, and from it emerges a green being almost the same size as Abomination. Hulk roars towards the sky in all his green glory.
"Finally, it's time to decide who is the most powerful being."
After Hulk appears, Abomination seems to forget about me, and the two run towards each other on a collision course. Understanding what's about to happen and considering the civilians still running through the streets seeking shelter, I create two golden walls of light around them as they collide.
"BOOM!"
The impact creates a shockwave that would probably harm anyone nearby, but my golden walls of light manage to contain it. When I turn my attention back to the fight, I see Hulk staggering from the shock of colliding with Abomination.
"Come!"
Abomination shouts to Hulk from afar, while the green giant has a brilliant idea. He breaks a police car in half and uses both halves as brass knuckles on each hand.
"ROAR!"
With Hulk's roar, he attacks Abomination with two punches to the face. The improvised brass knuckles prove to be useful as Hulk knocks Abomination to the ground, where he proceeds to rain blows upon him. With each punch, the brass knuckles break a bit, scattering pieces of the car's metal across the street. When they are completely destroyed, Hulk grabs Abomination by the neck and delivers a powerful punch to his face.
"Is that all?"
Abomination smiles, then kicks Hulk with such force that he goes through the first-floor building ahead.
"Don't forget about me!"
As Abomination is about to follow Hulk, I appear by his side, jumping and hitting his face with my knee. Before hitting the ground, I grab his head and smash it into the ground. He gets up and grabs me with both hands, bringing me to his face.
"You're becoming quite a nuisance. I'm going to crush you like the little worm you are!"
He squeezes me with all his strength, making me lose my breath. I try to break free, but his strength surpasses mine, and my hands are trapped. So I try something I've always wanted to attempt. I focus my energy into my eyes and shoot two beams of light at Abomination's face, making him release me.
(T/N: I thought you could destroy a solar system ðŸ˜)
"ROAR!"
My beams hit his eyes directly, causing him to cover his face with his hands. I know he'll heal in a short time. I tear apart my simple black shirt and begin to use runic magic to increase my strength. My hands also start to glow in golden light.
"Let's get a bit more serious."
"I'M GOING TO CRUSH YOU!"
Abomination has recovered enough to punch me. Instead of dodging, I hit his fist with mine. When our blows meet, my hand releases a burst of golden energy, and the shock of our two blows creates massive destruction for meters around us, but it's Abomination who loses this exchange of blows. He takes a few steps back, and I take advantage, jumping and hitting him with my elbow right above his skull, making him bend over. The next blow is a hook right to his chin, followed by several punches to his stomach.
Each punch I throw releases a wave of energy that destroys the surrounding area, but he recovers seconds later and starts hitting me back. This time, I don't dodge, I accept all his blows on my body. The previous skilled fight disappears, turning into a barbaric and bloody brawl that would continue until one of us is dead.
"That's it, that's what I wanted, someone to fight to my limit. You're much better than the other one."
Happy with the fight, he wipes the green blood from his face. I'm also bleeding a lot, as one of his punches hit me right above the eyebrow, causing my entire face to be soaked in blood. I could easily heal these wounds, but since the beginning of the fight, I wanted to do it only with my physical strength, so I didn't use my spear. As we were about to resume the fight, I see a giant shadow falling from the building beside us, hitting Abomination with both hands and creating a crater in the middle of the street.
"RAAAAAAH!"
Hulk doesn't stop and keeps pounding on Abomination's body, using his two arms as hammers hitting the ground, each blow causing destruction around us to increase. Anticipating what's going to happen, I leap to a nearby building, escaping just as the ground gives way and the two giants fall into the city's sewer system.
The hole covers a good portion of that street, luckily with no people nearby. They disappear from sight, and shortly after, they both fly out of the hole. I see Abomination holding Hulk by the neck as they crash through several houses, destroying them. When they stop, Abomination starts delivering multiple punches to Hulk's face while still holding his neck.
I'm not sure if it's because of the experiment Bruce underwent, but this version of Hulk seems much weaker than the original. After several blows, I see that Hulk is about to lose consciousness. So, I attack, hitting Abomination's extended arm that was holding Hulk.
"CRACK!"
"AAAAAAAH!"
This time I hear the bone in his arm break, and he releases Hulk. I don't give him time to recover, I land several blows on his body and head. Hulk wakes up behind me and joins me, attacking with powerful blows. He may not be very smart, but he knows how to differentiate between allies and enemies.
With both of us attacking, Abomination loses control of the fight. Victory seems imminent, but then a military helicopter appears above us and starts firing .50 caliber bullets at us. They can destroy tanks but feel like mosquito bites to us. However, this gives Abomination an opportunity. He kicks a piece of concrete lying on the street, hitting the helicopter's tail and causing it to explode. The helicopter loses control and starts spinning in the air.
"BETTYY!"
Hulk shouts his girlfriend's name and turns his back to the enemy, a big mistake. Abomination wraps his arms around his neck in a headlock, trapping him. I knew this wouldn't kill him, so I rush to prevent the helicopter from crashing. Before it touches the ground, I grab it, saving Hulk's girlfriend and her foolish father.
As I gently lower the helicopter to the ground, I'm struck with a kick to my body, causing me to let go. Abomination releases Hulk and attacks me when my guard is down, reverting to his roots as a soldier instead of just thinking like a barbarian.
"This is going to be troublesome!"
