Chapter 35 - Chapter 32 - Second Battle Part 2

POV: Baldur

Courtyard of the Royal Castle of Wakanda, 1943.

I just need a few more seconds to execute an attack to kill all my enemies. Luckily, Klaw talks too much. I'll attack using light beams, hitting him and his men. I just have to be careful not to accidentally hit T'Chaka.

"Well, let's just finish this," Klaw says.

"RELEASE MY BROTHER!"

The shout reminds me that S'Yan is still here. That was my mistake. S'Yan runs beside me, raising his training weapon to attack Klaw.

"Wait!" I shout, trying to stop her foolish action.

"NOW!" Klaw shouts, giving the order.

The next sequence of events surprises me. The royal guards surrounding the prince turn towards me. Four of them thrust their spears into the ground, and suddenly I see a blue light surrounding me in the shape of a square, trapping me inside.

"Energy prison successfully executed," the leader of the guards says.

During the betrayal, one of Klaw's men strikes S'Yan, rendering him unconscious, then slings her over his shoulder like a sack.

"As I said, 'God,' I won the moment I set foot here."

I ignore the idiot and examine the energy prison around me. It seems to utilize a kind of energy mixed with magic controlled by the four men holding the spears. They surely had the assistance of the White Gorilla god to set up this trap. This shield not only confines me but also blocks my connection to the outside. I can't control the sun to attack. I have to break out of this prison from within.

(T/N: How advanced was the tech in 1943? cause I don't think klaw should have the kind of tech that can trap a god)

"And the queen?" Klaw asks the commander of the traitorous guards.

"She is being protected by General Ada. It is impossible to kill her now."

"Well, two out of three complete objectives. I'll consider it a total victory," Klaw says, smiling.

"Commander, I hope this prison is sturdy because what I hate most are traitors."

The commander looks at me and recoils in fear.

"We don't have time for this. Let's go. We have to leave before the real Wakandan army arrives."

With that, Klaw retreats with his men, leaving the traitors behind, only the four men energizing the spears remain.

""You know this prison won't last. Why sacrifice yourselves for them?" I ask the four mages holding me.

"We've been waiting for this day for generations. We infiltrated the Wakanda palace and also created the breach in the defense that let the Nazis in, along with the bombs. We'll die knowing we defeated the greatest enemy of our tribe. That's the greatest honor," one of them replies.

They're not palace guards, but rather infiltrated members of the Jibari tribe.

"You really managed to defeat me now, but are you ready for what's going to happen next?" My smile makes everyone tremble with fear. The Jibari tribe defeated me and took those I was protecting. It's been hundreds of years since I got angry at someone."

POV: Third Person

"Is this your plan, White Gorilla? To kill everyone?" Still trying to think of any way the Jibari tribe might have to defeat Baldur, Azzuri asks, buying time.

"Yes! Why not? If the Nazis can't kidnap your family and make you pass the throne to me, killing everyone seems like a good plan to me," he replies sadistically as always, while the two German super soldiers take positions around them.

"You talk too much. I've been waiting a long time to kill the American symbol," says Master Man, loading another magazine into his machine gun.

"Kill? No, that would be a waste. I'll make him my slave. He'll serve the Fuhrer very well," Warrior Woman says, cracking her whip on the ground, ready for battle.

"You're quite popular, Steve," Azzuri stops thinking about what might happen and focuses on the situation in front of him. He has to deal with everything and return quickly to the palace.

"You're quite popular too, king," Steve says, smiling.

"You take the two, and I'll take the big guy?"

"Sounds good to me."

Without waiting or planning, Steve attacks the two Nazis while Azzuri heads towards the White Gorilla.

Azzuri leaps, aiming his claw attack at the gorilla's throat, but the gorilla avoids it by moving his neck in the opposite direction, then punches the king, who defends himself with his arms, rolling on the ground. Azzuri grabs something from his belt and throws it.

Two small daggers fly towards the gorilla's eyes, but he avoids them once again by ducking, then attacks head-on, hitting Azzuri with his shoulder, sending him crashing into a tree. The White Gorilla doesn't stop his advance and delivers several punches, leaving Azzuri with no choice but to defend himself."

"The powerful blows of the gorilla are so strong that they are breaking the tree against which the king is leaning. Taking advantage of an opening in the rain of attacks, Azzuri dodges to the left and strikes the gorilla's abdomen, leaving four claw marks.

"HA!"

Screaming in pain, the gorilla swings his arm to make Azzuri step back, then puts his hand on his wound.

"You bastard!"

"I'm just warming up," says Azzuri and goes for another attack.

On the other side, Master Man shoots with the machine gun aiming at Steve, who defends himself with his shield and advances until he rolls to the side, defending himself behind a tree. Taking advantage of the enemy's loss of sight, he throws the shield, hitting the weapon directly and breaking it. With no time to breathe, he ducks, dodging Warrior Woman's whip. He grabs the whip and pulls it forcefully, causing her to fall to the ground.

Master Man decides that weapons won't work, pulls out a knife, and tries to stab Steve in the chest. Steve dodges the knife, hitting Master Man's hand with his wrist, then lands a punch to Master Man's face. He then crouches and delivers a powerful hook to the chin, the blow is so strong that Master Man lifts off the ground, then falls backward. As Steve was about to deliver another blow, he feels a sharp pain in his left thigh.

When he looks back, he sees a small dagger stuck in his thigh. Warrior Woman threw a dagger at him and was about to throw another.

When the dagger is thrown, Steve rolls to the side, and the dagger hits Master Man squarely in the shoulder as he was getting up.

"You idiot, pay attention!" He shouted.

They may be on the same side, but they don't work well as a team, Steve thought.

Steve removes the dagger from his thigh and, enduring the pain, throws it back at Warrior Woman, aiming for her face. The dagger travels at immense speed and hits Warrior Woman's forehead, leaving her in shock. Luckily for her, Steve didn't want her dead; what hit her forehead wasn't the blade, but the dagger's handle. The blow is so strong that she takes several steps back, dropping her daggers.

Steve runs up to her, punches her in the face, knocking her unconscious to the ground. He takes her whip and attacks Master Man, hitting and ensnaring him around the neck. Steve pulls hard, bringing his enemy in front of him.

He grabs Master Man's arm and throws him over his shoulder in a judo move, causing him to fall face-first onto the ground. Steve quickly puts his knee in the middle of Master Man's back and his hands, one under his chin, the other behind his neck.

"You bastard, let go of me!"

Without giving Master Man time to fight, Steve twists his neck.

"CRACK!"

Killing Master Man. Steve isn't gentle with soldiers who aren't women. After getting up and checking if Warrior Woman is still unconscious, he now pays attention to Azzuri's fight.

Azzuri isn't in a good situation; due to a slip-up, White Gorilla grabs his neck, lifts him off the ground, and then slams him onto the ground with all his force, making him lose his breath. Then he receives a stomp to the chest. The armor protects him from the damage but not from the shock.

When Gorilla lifts his foot to deliver another blow, Azzuri rolls on the ground and gets up. The White Gorilla takes advantage and now grabs his neck with both hands, lifting him off the ground, trying to strangle the king. With his hands free, he attacks with his claws, hitting the gorilla's left eye, blinding him.

"AAAAHHHHH!"

He lets go, holding his face.

"AZZURI!"

Hearing Steve's voice, he turns around. Steve throws his sword at him, which was taken by Warrior Woman.

With more fury than before, the White Gorilla launches another punch. Azzuri ducks, dodging, and swings his sword. The sharp blade cuts through the skin like butter. The gorilla's entire arm falls to the ground, and from his shoulder, a large amount of blood gushes out.

"AAAHHHH!"

Spinning in pain, the White Gorilla kneels on the ground, holding his shoulder with his other hand, he looks at Azzuri in front of him with all the hatred in the world.

"I sur.."

Before completing his sentence, the silver light shines once again; a few seconds later, the White Gorilla's head falls, leaving only his kneeling body.

"Baldur was right; mercy for enemies is unnecessary."

Leaving the White Gorilla's body behind, he heads towards Steve, who has recovered his shield.

"We have to go save your family," he says to Azzuri, who hesitates to respond.

"No. We have to save your men. I really want to save my family, but if he can't protect my family, no one can. We have to help your men," Azzuri says, having faith in Baldur.

"And her?" Azzuri points to the Warrior Woman unconscious on the ground.

"I'll take her as a prisoner. The information she has must be immense," Steve says, putting the unconscious woman on his shoulders and running towards his men along with Azzuri.

POV: Baldur.

Trapped in the Courtyard of the Royal Castle of Wakanda, 1943.

All my attempts to break free from my prison have failed. I tried attacking using energy beams from my spear, but the prison only absorbed the energy, becoming stronger. I tried direct attacks, but without much success either.

The idea of absorbing and converting my attacks is not new, but I'm curious to know how they managed to do it with just four spears and mages.

Without any smarter ideas, I can only resort to the most brute solution. I'll give more energy than they can absorb.

(This is going to hurt.)

I point my hand forward and close my eyes.

"I invoke the light of Balthakk!"

A flash of purple and gold light shoots from my hand, hitting the shield and tinting the entire space in which I am confined.

"He's doing something!" shouts one of the Mages.

The energy prison begins to crack like breaking glass and then explodes. Those who trapped me fall backward to the ground with terror on their faces. The hand I used to attack is pulsating with pain; the power of Balthakk is demanding an increasingly heavy toll.

"Well, let's deal with things here first," I say.

The four men, even more afraid, crawl along the ground trying to run away. I activate my primary rune and then activate the inheritance rune. I give the four men the heat I can emit, but I do not give them my resistance to it.

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!"

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!"

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!"

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!"

The four scream for a second and stop because they can't handle it anymore. Their vocal cords are burnt, their bodies turn red and start to dry out, burning from the inside out. The unimaginable pain lasted for a short time until seconds later only four skeletons remained on the ground.

(I've never used this rune for an attack, but it worked surprisingly well. Unfortunately, I have to be close to the target for it to work.)

"Now for the main event. If I were a group of traitors and Nazi child kidnappers, where would I go?"

After thinking for a moment and considering some options, I activate my boots. They release a golden light that makes me float in the air, then I launch myself towards the kidnappers meeting point flying at high speed.
