"Mrs. Woods, how are you feeling right now?" When I first opened my eyes, I was taken aback to see Ethan Woods standing there.
How long have I been sleeping, and how long has he been standing here? Did he observe me as I slept? The way he's smiling makes me think I must have been snoring.
"How is the pain in your foot right now?" As soon as I heard his voice, I snapped out of my reverie.
"My leg?" Oh, sure, I have a fractured leg, and for the next 15 days, I won't even be able to leave my bed.
The kindness of Mr. Chang has made this all possible.
"Mr.Woods, my leg is fine, and I appreciate your assistance; nevertheless, if you don't come with me at the appropriate time,...,"My mind's eye suddenly raced back to the situation in Mr. Chang's office.
"Do you need to say anything else to me?"
Oh, I see. He wants me to apologize. This guy will never get better. The anticipation in his eyes and the grin on his face when I say "I'm sorry" is making me angry.
He warned me to avoid Mr. Chang from the very first day of our encounter, but I misunderstood his advice. He prohibited me from meeting Mr. Chang yesterday as well, and I violently smacked him in front of everyone. I've made fun of him in front of others many times, so I'm puzzled why such an egotistical person assisted me yesterday instead of getting even with me for my words.
Because he likes you.
Stop with the nonsense. I don't want to get caught in my subconscious's web of erroneous expectations.

I don't know; he already has a girlfriend, and he is in love with her, and I don't want to break my heart one more time.

"Okay, I'm sorry, Mr. Woods; I erred by ignoring your advice."
"Stella, could you please repeat what you said because I couldn't hear you well?"
"Why are you bothering me, Ethan?
Tell me what's wrong."I threw the pillow on my side towards him.
"Mrs.Woods, your best facial expressions are those of anger and annoyance; melancholy and distress do not flatter you."
Why did he get so serious all of a sudden? I thought he was making fun of me, but why do I think he's profoundly hurt by something since I notice seriousness in his eyes?
"Sorry, Ethan. I mistakenly believed that you had prevented me from conducting business with Mr. Chang to demonstrate your power over me. I had no clue that a man would act in such a terrible way while pretending to be doing business with me."
"Stella, your issue is that you don't fully comprehend me; you believe that Ethan Woods is nothing more than an egotistical businessman."
Why is he speaking so seriously, and what has happened to him today? I feel as though he is discovering a method to access my soul from the way his eyes are gazing into mine.
Stella, please don't.
Avoid looking into his eyes because if you do, you won't be able to control your need to tell him you love him.
"I need the TV remote, Mr. Woods. Please give it to me so I can watch some important news." I immediately averted my eyes from him and focused on the closed TV screen.
"Can we be friends, Mrs. Woods?"
"What? Does the legendary Ethan Woods want to be my friend? I just don't believe what I'm hearing."
"Stella, I'm not kidding." He commented as he reached out a hand for me.
"What makes you want to get along with me?" I'm unsure of how to react to his offer.
The two of you should become friends. Without my asking, my subconscious gave me suggestions.
How am I supposed to be his buddy when my feelings for him go beyond friendship?
But if you become friends with him, you'll have the opportunity to get to know him better, and it was because of you that he cut off his business relationship with Mr. Chang. He will feel terrible if you reject his friendship offer.
"Please, Stella, I'm not such a jerk; we can be friends." He held out his hand to me, signaling that he was still waiting for my response.
"Ethan, how can we be friends when we are so different from one another?" I'm still struggling to make a decision.
"Then, how would two very different personalities interact?"
Oh no, he turned to look at me once again. How do I now explain to him that there can be love between two individuals with such distinct personalities and that we only choose friends who have our natural tendencies?
"Stella, please respond to my question."
"Okay, I'll accept your friendship." I quickly accepted his offer by shaking hands to sidestep his query.
"However, you omitted to explain what sort of bond exists between individuals with two different personalities."
Why is this guy so obstinate?
"Would your girlfriend mind if we became friends, Mr. Woods?" I again shifted the subject to evade his inquiry."
"We are husband and wife, so there should be no reason for my girlfriend to object to our friendship."
His partner is very patient and kind to him. I would never allow him to be friends with another woman if I were his girlfriend. After all, I am only entitled to my possessions.
"Mrs. Woods, would your boyfriend object if we became friends?"
Oh no, is this man truly insane? Which relationship is he referring to, and how can I break the news to him that I am currently single? I want to tell him that there is no other man in my life than him, but I'm afraid that if I do so now, my lie will be discovered.
"Mr. Woods, my boyfriend, and your girlfriend both have no issues with our friendship." I spoke while feigning a smile.
"Okay, so from today on, we are friends, and there will be no more formalities or secrets between us."
After all, about what secret is he speaking? I find it quite difficult to comprehend this man.
"Ok. As you please, but please hand the TV remote to me right away." I'm sure that the contract with Mr. Chang has already made headlines in the business world.
Based on my educated assessment, the only story on every business news channel was the termination of our contract.
