Chapter 78 - Visit to china

"Ethan's point of view,"

"There must be some crucial tasks at hand if the legendary Ethan Woods thought to contact me." As soon as Jack received my call, he began teasing me.

"Put an end to your nonsense. Jack, I have no response to your foolishness, and I have no desire to ruin my mood by engaging in a pointless debate with you. So please don't ruin my day by interrupting me now."

Stella has already made me quite upset, and at this point, Jack is merely stoking my rage.

Jack asked in a serious voice, sensing the intensity of my rage, "Ethan, what happened that made you so angry?"

"Stella Parker. That obstinate girl has become my greatest challenge. What does she think of herself, after all? How can she leave without telling me in this manner?"

"I don't understand a word you're saying. Could you maybe clarify to me what happened between the two of you this time?" As I listened to Jack, I became aware that, in my rage, I had already given him a hint about the conflict between Stella and me.

This would cause me a lot of problems if he told my grandmother about it. Now, I have to make up a story to keep Jack from telling my grandmother the truth.

"This morning, Stella and I got into a fight, and now she's left me here alone and gone to another country. I need your assistance since I don't know where my dear wife has gone, and I need to calm her wrath and get her back to my house as soon as possible." In a single breath, I explained my predicament to him.

"I see. You miss her now."

I could tell from the sound of his voice that he is definitely grinning right now, and just picturing his mocking grin makes me even angrier. I would have punched Jack until he was blue if I hadn't had to learn about Stella at this particular moment.

"Jack, hold your laughter and complete the task I set you."

"Well, Mr. Woods, I will certainly complete your work; after all, I am paid for it; nevertheless, there is something that I do not yet fully comprehend." He said this while thinking hard.

"What?

What do you now want to comprehend?"

"To get outraged about anything or settle a dispute, do the wealthy just up and leave the country?"

"Please put an end to your nonsense." My rage had already skyrocketed when I overheard him laughing.

I slammed my phone against the wall in front of me in frustration.

I feel better now.

Stella's head would be much more useful than my phone right now.

How could she insult me in this way, after all? Does she not give a damn about me?

"Mr. Woods, Jack has called and is eager to speak with you." Steve stated this in a confused voice as he stood at the door to my office.

"Alright," I reached out and grabbed the phone out of his hand.

Without asking me a question, Steve handed me his phone.

"Jack, you completed my task, yes?"

"Mrs. Woods, after becoming upset with you, left for China."

"What?"

Why did she visit China so suddenly? She definitely went to meet Mr. Chang.

"Thank you, Jack." I ended the call and turned to give Steve his phone back.

"Your new phone, Mr. Woods," He undoubtedly noticed the mobile's parts lying on the ground and quickly made arrangements to get me a new one.

He usually carries a spare mobile with him since he is well aware of my rage.

"Steve, we have to depart straight away for China."

"What?" He listened to me, then stared at me like I had two horns growing out of my head.

"Do you find it difficult to understand what I'm saying?" Steve's questions are only serving to aggravate my already severe annoyance.

"But how can you suddenly travel to China, Mr. Woods? The Board of Directors meeting will take place in a short while."

"Cancel all of my meetings; I simply need to get to China at this moment, and you will be traveling with me." Once I gave Steve the go-ahead, I gathered my belongings and exited the building.

Stella had not yet turned on her phone. I don't know why she traveled to China. Thanks to this girl, I've completely lost my mind.

"Can you tell me, Jack, where my wife went after she left the airport?" I called Jack's phone number once more.

"Mr. Woods, you've never called me more than once a day before. What's the issue exactly?" I could tell from Jack's intonation that he was making light of my agitation.

"Please refrain from making fun of me and respond to my inquiry."

"Okay, Mr. Woods, your wife drove away from the airport in a black Porsche, and I have no idea where she went."

"What the hell? What kind of detective are you, Jack, if you can't discover a minor's car?"

"Mr. Woods, I'm in America, not China." After hearing me out, he finally broke into a complaining rant.

"Alright, don't worry about it; I'll figure out on my own why my wife needs to go to China." I ended the call and boarded my airplane.

I'm not currently focused on any work.

"How are you, Mr. Chang?"

"Mr. Woods, why did you suddenly call me?" He must have been shocked beyond belief when he saw my call on his mobile device. I don't like to have direct phone conversations with my clients. All of my meetings are either face-to-face or via Zoom.

Even though I never give out my personal phone number, Stella today has left my mind so foggy that I can't think clearly. I currently feel so angry and frustrated that I am unable to comprehend anything.

I also tried to control my wrath by taking three to four deep breaths, but at this point, none of my methods were helping me to do so.

"I want to meet with you to discuss the new project, Mr. Chang."

"I'm free tomorrow afternoon, Mr. Woods, so we can use Zoom to call."

"No, I prefer to speak with you in your office the following morning."

"What? Have you accompanied Mrs. Woods to China as well?"

Oh, that proves that my guess that she had been to China to meet Mr. Chang was accurate. Why does she keep putting me to the test? She accepted Mr. Chang's business proposal over my objections, and now, without my knowledge, she has traveled to China to meet him.

Stella Parker will pay a price for her error this time.

"Yes, Mr. Chang, you are correct. I have traveled to China with my wife to spend some time there." I ended the call and put the phone in my pocket.

"Mr. Woods, you've been invited." Steve showed me his iPad's inbox.

"Perfect.

Stella Parker, you now know that not only do you know how to deliver shocking news, but that Ethan Woods is more skilled at doing so than you are." A mischievous grin appeared on my face when I opened the invitation I had gotten in the mail.
