Chapter 69 - Am I your slave?

"Stella's point of view,"

"Mrs.woods. We are returning to New York." I was sitting on the beach working on a new business strategy when Ethan walked up to me and said?

I instantly got up from my spot after listening to him because I had been wanting to leave this island for a while myself.

"Steve was here to pick us up, and Grandma sent a plane to bring us home."

I didn't even ask him how we were going to go back, but he provided the answer without my having to ask. He's been trying to talk to me in this way for the past three days.

However, I'm trying to ignore him.

He approaches me to talk on various pretexts, but when I don't reply to him and continue working, he leaves me alone and goes off to an unknown place.

"Mrs. woods. How are you?" Steve asked quietly while glancing at me.

"I'm doing well." Although I am not feeling well and would like to get back to work as soon as possible, I decided it would be best to tell Steve that I am fine so that he would not worry about me.

"We must now return quickly." After all, what has happened to this man, and why does he keep speaking while staring directly at me?

Has he still not realized that I have no desire to speak with him?

After entering the airplane, I first took a hot shower before changing into a pair of casual shorts and a T-shirt. I was so frustrated that I hid under a bedsheet for so many days. I need to connect with Avery immediately, so I'm going to go charge my phone. Since last week, I haven't heard from the company with any updates.

However, I can reach Avery because she is spending a week in the hospital.

Oh no. After going on our honeymoon trip, I had already forgotten about the real troubles in my life. I need to see how Avery is doing by calling her. I dialed Avery's number right away.

"Good day, Mrs. Woods. What's up?" She answered my call and immediately started making fun of me.

"Stop your bullshit and let me know how you're doing. You didn't experience any issues while you were in the hospital, did you?"

How can I be so self-centered that Avery's situation is a result of me?

How am I supposed to care for her when I'm here on my honeymoon?

But I came here under pretenses. Whatever occurred is not my fault; Ethan's grandmother is to blame.

"Mrs. Woods. I'm doing fine. Don't be concerned about me. Tell me if the honeymoon was enjoyable."

Nothing can happen to Avery. She is a patient at the hospital, yet she never misses an opportunity to tease me. Avery.

"When are you going to be discharged from the hospital?" She teased me, but I didn't reply.

"After three days," she stopped making fun of me because she understood how serious my voice was.

"Stella. Are you okay?" Her voice showed worry for me.

Nothing about me is okay, and I want to tell her that. I'm feeling strangely drawn to Ethan Woods. But I'm unable to speak with her on the phone.

"Avery, please recover quickly and rejoin business with me. The company has a ton of unfinished business." I stated this while inhaling deeply.

"Stella, try not to worry too much; everything will be alright soon." She attempted to calm me.

"I missed you. When the plane lands, I'll be the first to come to meet you."

"Stella, I also missed you." After saying this, she ended the call.

"Were you speaking to your boyfriend?" When I heard Ethan's voice, I was about to end the call and check my emails on my laptop.

Oh god. Why won't this man leave me alone?

"Yes. Do you have a problem?" I questioned in a grating manner.

"Mrs. Woods. You won't speak to him anymore. You won't approach any men too closely until we agree to complete our contract."

"Am I your slave?" I've been so furious with this man that it's getting harder and harder for me to keep my temper under control.

"Please stop referring to me as Mrs. Woods so frequently. You can call me Miss Parker; my name is Stella Parker."

What authority does he have to assert his rights against me if there is no relationship between us? Why is he wasting his time arguing with me when he might talk to his girlfriend?

"You will only hear me address you as Mrs. Woods, and you need to reply." He spoke as he moved in my direction.

Oh my God, he's approaching me once more. I have to prevent this man from approaching me.

"Alright, Mr. Woods. It would be best if you did not bother me right now since I need to do a very essential task. We will talk about this topic later." I commented on switching on the laptop's display.

"Oh, so you believe that no one else is busy; I, too, am swamped with responsibilities." He took his laptop from my side and walked away.

What is the issue with this man, after all?

I have the impression that he occasionally seeks to drag me into arguments on purpose. But why do I even consider him? I have a lot of unfinished business at the moment, so I shouldn't waste time worrying about him.

To avoid thinking about Ethan Woods, I keep myself busy working on company business all day. However, despite my packed day, I can't explain why I keep thinking about him.

When I recall the times I spent with him, a grin quickly appears on my face, but the second I consider him his girlfriend, I am quite angry. I don't talk to him, but I pay close attention to every action he takes.

I don't know why I started being concerned about him when he didn't eat that evening and fell asleep while sitting.

Was he expecting my arrival that evening?

No, he must be missing his girlfriend because he didn't even eat. But I can't see him like this, so I immediately put him on the mat. I forced him to lie down on the mat despite it being difficult to drag his hulk-like body there.

But when I forced him to lie down and turned to go, he clung to my hand and placed his heavy leg on top of me.

At first, I was convinced that he was deliberately torturing me; however, after noticing how soundly he was sleeping, I abandoned all hope of escaping his grasp and instead drifted off to sleep next to him.

Even before he awoke the following morning, I had left his side. He must know nothing about the night, under any circumstances.

"Would you like some coffee, Mrs. Woods?" I interrupted my dream world when I heard Steve's voice.

"Thank you, Steve; I needed the coffee at this moment." I took the coffee cup out of his hands and murmured.

"Where is your boss, Steve?"

Where has Ethan Woods been? He hasn't bothered me in a while.

"The boss is presently engaged in an online meeting with Mr. Chang." While adjusting his glasses, he said,

"Oh, so Mr. Chang and your boss are having a meeting." While listening to him, a malicious plan formed in my head.

It's time for retaliation, Ethan Woods. I quickly minimized my laptop screen and moved in Ethan's direction.
