Chapter 75 - Action plan

"Stella's point of view,"

"What?

Are you stating the truth?

Do you miss Mr. Woods?

Are things going well between the two of you?"Avery's inquiries show no signs of abating.

"Please don't bother me with your questions, Avery; nothing has transpired the way you expect it to; nothing has worked out between us; in fact, our distance has grown even more." I stated this while inhaling deeply.

"Stella, stop taking things so seriously if you and your partner disagree over something. After all, every husband and wife argue from time to time." She shook her shoulders in response.

"Do you not remember that our relationship is based solely on a contract and that neither of us is your typical husband and wife?" I spoke in a grating manner.

"Why did you go on your honeymoon, though?" After hearing all of her questions, my brain is spinning.

"Stop babbling, Avery, and pay attention to driving the car." I started getting inside the car and occupying the passenger seat.

"What?

What's that I hear?

Why is Stella Parker avoiding her favorite sports car?

How is this possible?" With amazement in her eyes, she regarded me.

"Avery, how can I drive while my hand is injured?

Can't you see that?" In front of her, I stated while displaying the bandage I had tied on my hand.

"Oh, how did you harm yourself?" She asked while pouting.

"I promise to respond to all of your pointless inquiries before bedtime if you will just drive me to Parker Industry as soon as possible." I said as I buckled my seatbelt.

"Ok, boss," after hearing me, she turned on the car's engine right away.

Even though it had only been a week since I left California, I already felt like a lot had changed. I no longer enjoy driving, preferring instead to let someone else do it while I enjoy the view from the window. I have never allowed someone else to operate my car; typically, I prefer to do so myself.

Ethan must have seen his girlfriend right away after leaving the airport because he didn't even call to see how I was doing.

Should I call him?

No, I shouldn't call him since I wouldn't want to ruin his lovely time with his partner.

But why do I think about him so much? What trouble do I have dealing with that man like a normal business owner since our marriage is a contract, after all?

Why is my heart getting fond of him?

"What happened, Stella? Are you okay?" I snapped out of my reverie after hearing Avery's query.

"I'm alright. However, please let me know if those people bothered you after I left." I don't want to talk to her right now about my issue.

Because other than my emotional battles, I currently face far bigger challenges in my life.

"Well, no one can bother me, but your aunt tried to torture me severely while I was in the hospital." Keeping her gaze firmly set on the road, she spoke.

"What? Yet why?" I had no way of believing what she had said.

"It's a good thing you weren't here, and it's even better that no one knew about you.

Your Aunt Lily wanted to know how you suddenly got married to Ethan Woods, and she wanted to see you right away." Avery said this after inhaling deeply.

"It was my fault that you had so much trouble, Avery, and I begged your forgiveness," I stated by staring at her.

"Stella, stop feeling so guilty about what happened because it wasn't your fault." She murmured while glancing at the warm bandage that was fastened on her right leg.

"Do any of the Pinto family members have any updates on your arrival?" Suddenly, she turned her attention to me from the road."Most likely not, as I haven't spoken to any Pinto family members since getting married."

"I've got a fantastic idea to surprise the Pinto family." She had an evil look on her face, and I could see that she was planning some fresh mischief.

"I have to focus on some very significant issues to get my business back on solid ground, Avery, so we'll talk about this later." Looking at the Parker Industries board outside the car window, I said,

"Have you made any plan?" She unbuckled her seat belt and cast an inquisitive glance my way.

"Do you believe I can go into any situation without a detailed plan?"

My feelings for Ethan Woods were completely unforeseen, but other than that, I'm pretty deliberate in my actions.

"Miss Parker, congratulations!" As soon as I entered the Parker industry, my employees started congratulating me on my wedding.

"Please set up a senior staff meeting right away, Avery." I went straight from my elevator to the meeting room.

In about five minutes, all of Parker Industries' top employees were sitting in the chairs in front of me. All of those people were staring at me with perplexed eyes. Except for me, no one in this room knew why I had called these individuals in.

"My dad established the Parker Industry, and you guys and I have all worked together to make it one of the most prosperous businesses in California. However, Parker Industries has been in poor shape for the past few days, and as a result, we have all had to deal with a lot of difficulties.

I've devised a strategy to re-contact our former clients and win back the ended projects we were working on together; if you have any ideas for how I may refine this overarching strategy, let me know." I said, showing the complete master plan on the projector screen in front of me.

"Stella, when did you do this?"

"Oh, my God! Miss Parker, when did you come up with this plan?

You haven't even been in this city for a week." Avery gave me a perplexed look.

"This is a truly fantastic plan, Miss Parker. If everything goes according to plan, the Parker Industry will undoubtedly be in the same position in a few months." Everyone in the conference room had their gaze glued to the projector.

"Are you prepared, team?"

"We are prepared, Miss Parker." The conference room resounded with cheerful voices.

"I have already mailed your action plan and job responsibilities to you, so you should all get to work right now."

"Indeed, Miss Parker."

Everyone got up and headed outdoors from the conference room.

There were now just Avery and me in the conference room.

Ethan used to annoy me for days by calling me Mrs. Woods, so it makes me feel quite weird to hear people now refer to me as Miss Parker.

"When did you come up with this idea, Stella?" Avery's eyes were staring at me as if I were sprouting two horns from my head.

"P.A. Darling, you will soon receive all of your questions' responses, but in the meantime, could you arrange for me to have an urgent meeting with each of our clients regarding the current project?"

"What?

Now?

Why, though?" She inquired in a startled tone.

She asked me with an inquisitive look,

"Don't you know that all the clients are furious with us?" Her statement startled me.

"Fear not, Avery; if I can spend a week with a brash man like Ethan Woods, I can handle just about anything."
