Chapter 61 - Fishing

"Stella's point of view,"

"Mrs. Woods, why are you walking at such a rapid speed?" he asked while sprinting after me.

"You recently informed me I can not slow down for you. Why are you fussing about me now that I am moving at my pace?" I gave him an indignant look.

What does this man want from me, after all? When I informed him I wanted to go fishing with him as well, he said that it would be difficult and that I should wait in the hut until he returned.

Why does he always think I am incapable of doing everything that he is capable of? His ego prevents him from understanding that a woman could be more talented than he is.

But to my astonishment, he said that I might accompany him.

What prompted his rapid mood change? Whatever the reason for his altered choice, I am glad that I am going fishing. If not, I would have been a lonely boar in this hut.

"You're quite egotistical, Mrs. Woods. Although I tried to help, you are still upset with me." He obstructed my path by standing in front of me.

"What have you said? Selfish, are you referring to yourself? Mr. Woods, because I believe the term "selfish" refers to someone who only considers themselves. And between the two of us, we know very well that you are the ones whose egos are always satisfied. Who has the illness of tying praise strings on everything?"

"Okay, Mrs. Woods, you don't need to go into further detail because I understand what you're trying to say." He said, stepping aside for me right away,

"Never again call me egotistical."

I looked at him and warned,

How can he call me selfish after all? Only on his instruction I have changed three dresses since this morning. I will no longer speak to him at all. After all, he causes me pain with words like this every time.

He just tells you anything in his mind, so you know he didn't mean to hurt you, so you can't stay angry with him for very long. My subconscious advised me to reconsider my choice.

If Ethan Woods could just tamp down a little on his male ego and pride, he could undoubtedly develop into a very nice man. Any female will have no problem preparing herself to claim a boy like him as her own.

I truly felt fortunate when he told me that being married to him made me very lucky. I know fully that our marriage is merely a contract, but I can't help but think that Ethan Woods would make a wonderful husband if he could just get his ego in check.

After listening to him, goosebumps appeared on my body as he ordered me to remove the bedsheet that was wrapped over my body. When I sensed his proximity, I became so nervous that, against my better judgment, I spoke the same words to him repeatedly.

After all, what would he think of me if I kept bringing the line from his grandmother's letter in front of him? He listened to me, and all of a sudden, he was upset. He attempted to keep a fake smile on his face, but in front of me, he could not do so.

"Mrs. Woods, are you going to be sitting here on the sand with a fishing rod?" As I heard his voice, I left my mental realm.

"Mrs. Woods, you must not even be aware that fish can not be found on sand because they live underwater." He had another opportunity to make fun of me because of my stupidity.

Oh my God, what did I do? I wasn't even aware that I hadn't thrown my fishing rod into the water because I was so preoccupied with my thoughts.

You must stop allowing him to mock you in this way. Defend yourself. Ethan Woods continued to giggle while glancing at me.

"I purposely left my hook on the beach right now, Mr. Woods, because I want you to catch four or five fish before you can accuse me of cheating on you," I said while glancing at the empty basket that was maintained by his side.

"What are you trying to convey, Mrs. Woods? Are you challenging me?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Oh, Stella, you responded to him so well; from now on, he won't hold you responsible for everything. I was admiring my cleverness and praising myself.

Should I compete with him while fishing?

Of course, facing off against Ethan Woods is a different fun. My subconscious compelled me to challenge him.

And what if, under the guise of a challenge, he flirts with me once more? I questioned my subconscious.

Oh, please, how can he flirt with you while fishing? My subconscious informed me that I didn't need to worry.

"Are you prepared to compete with me in fishing, Mr. Woods?" I gave him a wary glance.

"Of course, Mrs. Woods, you are well aware of how much your husband enjoys challenges and that I have a tendency to succeed." He declared with great excitement in his voice.

"However, please don't blame me if you lose this time." I gave him another glance before throwing my fishing line into the sea.

"Well, Mrs. Woods, why would I hold you accountable for anything when I am positive that I will defeat you at any cost?"

Oh my God, this overconfident man has no counterargument.

"Good luck, Mr. Woods." To capture a fish, I threw my hook into the water.

"Have you landed even one fish, Mrs. Woods?" He looked inside my bucket.

I haven't caught a single fish yet.

How long have I been waiting to hook one? I peered into the water to find the fish.

"How many fish did you catch, Mr. Woods?" I looked inside his bucket.

Oh no, there are fish in his bucket. What kind of enticing meal has he given the fish that they are all inevitably becoming caught in its hooks? He is undoubtedly using his flirtatious techniques on the fish as well, which is why they are all swimming into his bucket.

Oh my God, I'm thinking such foolish things. He has challenged me, and I don't want to lose since if he succeeds, it would greatly fulfill his male ego. He has issued this challenge, and I must prevail.

"Mrs. Woods, do you want my help?" He stated this with pride in his voice as he turned to face me.

"What? Did the legendary Ethan Woods promise to assist me in catching fish?" I gave him a perplexed expression as I observed him.

"Of course, I simply cannot bear to see my beautiful wife in such distress. And I don't want the spouse of such a brilliant man to be a total moron." Seeing my empty bucket, he made fun of me.

"Mr. Woods, stop making fun of me in that way. Remember that I caused you to lose twice, even if I don't know how to fish." I no longer desire to communicate with him. I sat facing away from him.

"Come on, Mrs. Woods; I was only kidding.I am completely aware of my wife's considerable talent. There won't be a problem with my wife if she doesn't know how to fish. My wife will learn how to fish from me." He said while sitting next to me.
