Chapter 59 - Chapter 20.3| Keychain

Meng Yin entered the classroom to find Lin Xipei's gaze shooting out like fireworks, looking at her with intense warmth.

The look was overly passionate.

"Yin, sweetheart, can you give me some 'candy'?" Xipei leaned close to Yin's head, her eyes drifting to where Xu Zhiyi had just sat down, filled with excitement. "You and Xu Zhiyi..." Yin could face Xu Zhiyi calmly when awake, but Lin Xipei's question inexplicably made her ears heat up.

She felt a bit embarrassed.

Hai listened in on the conversation between the two girls, one chair leg lifting 45 degrees off the ground, as he quietly asked Xu Zhiyi, "Bro, are you two together?"

It should be noted that he was the only one from the "foodie group" who hadn't witnessed the mutual confession of the "Zhiyin CP" in person, only seeing a live video shared by Lin Xipei in the group.

Ever since he found out that the person Xu Zhiyi was thinking about behind the keychain was Meng Yin, he had been holding onto this glaring secret, worrying about his brother.

Meng Yin expressed her joy naturally but failed to conceal the sweetness in her tone. Upon receiving confirmation from the rightful owner, Lin Xipei felt like a mother seeing her loved ones united, all the colourful emotions condensed into one sentence — 'Zhiyin is real.'

Hai, with his ears perked, overheard Yin's words and then observed his bro, forming a satisfied smile with raised eyebrows, looking as if his wish had been granted. Is this still Xu Zhiyi he knew?

In a moment of confusion, Hai watched as Zhiyi took out a small pouch from his school bag and retrieved a keychain with a no matter card.

"Hey, Bro Yi," Hai exclaimed in surprise, recognizing the keychain all too well, "Isn't this keychain for Meng Yin?"

Xipei's video was not fully recorded, so Hai was unaware if Xu Zhiyi had indeed given the keychain to Meng Yin, but Xu Zhiyi had mentioned on the forum that the keychain had been returned to its rightful owner!

This keychain was meant for Meng Yin, so wouldn't it be returned to him as the rightful owner?

"It was given."

"Then was this one remade?" It didn't seem like it

"No." Xu Zhiyi placed it back into the pen case.

"Why did you put this in the pen case?"

"To inspire." He wanted it as a company when seeking inspiration.

Nie Hai was puzzled and decided to ask another easygoing person involved.

"Meng Yin," Hai gently tapped his classmate's desk, "Did you return the keychain to Xu Zhiyi?" '

"No."

"Then why does your brother have an identical one?"

Yin recalled the scene, and lowered her eyes with a smile, teasing Hai's curiosity, "Why don't you guess—"

Nie Hai pondered whether he should say that the two of them were meant to be together.

The keychain's WuShiPai remains the same, the only difference being the weight.

Last year, Xu Zhiyi obtained a piece of good jade, had a craftsman polish it to the appropriate size, hollowed out a piece of Hainan huanghuali wood to create a hollow sliding box, placed the finished WuShiPai with jade inside, and had it blessed by a Taoist again.

Yesterday, Xu Zhiyi took out the jade insignia, threaded it on a Buddhist thread, and put it around Yin's neck.

The gift was heavy, but the sentiment was even heavier. Xu Zhiyi's words, "Just keep it for me for now," dispelled Yin's hesitation about accepting such a valuable gift. Thus, he now holds the box that used to hold the WuShiPai, while the WuShiPai itself has returned to Meng Yin.

Xing Xiuze picked at the green beans on his plate, raised his eyebrows provocatively at Xu Zhiyi, and casually revealed this truth, leaving Nie Hai almost dropping his jaw in surprise. How did Xing Xiuze know about this? Oh, he was right there when Xu Zhiyi did all these things.

Meng Yin ate as if nothing had happened, with her earlobes turning red and itchy.

Looking at the calm Lin Xipei, she secretly took out her phone to soothe her mood.

I must say our brother is quite skilled!!!
