"Miss, how about this fabric? It goes well with your skin tone and brings out your eyes. Would you like to try this piece?"
Sui's gaze, devoid of emotion, met the merchant's hopeful eyes. It was clear that his attempt to please her had fallen flat.
Tons and tones of materials were laid in front of her, and she could hear the maids swooning at the choices presented to her.
Yet Sui could not bring herself to choose a single piece. She looked at the happy-looking merchant before her with a disdained expression.
"You can choose any piece you want from this pile. I…we, your brother, will pay for anything you choose to buy today."
Grand Duke Lucius looked up from the pile of paperwork he had been working on to look at Sui.
He looked sincere, and Sui sighed with a dark look on her face.
She did not know how much extra money had been paid to this merchant for his visit to the Imperial Palace, but Sui felt bad spending all this money.
