"Halt! Where is this cart going? The palace is under a lockdown. No one is allowed to leave the Imperial Castle."
Sui's heart raced as she heard the soldiers approaching the cart. Unaware of her danger, she desperately hoped they would inspect the materials.
That way, they would find Sui and discover where Concubine Hwasa was.
But her hopes were shattered when the driver only laughed joyfully before speaking happily to the guards on duty.
"Sorry, but I got a special permit to go out and gather supplies. Lockdown or not, the imperial family and everyone inside still needs to eat, right?"
The driver asked and must have taken out some documents because it was suddenly entirely outside.
It lasted about 10 minutes, and Sui could hear the papers rustling.
Finally, the guard sighed in relief before he opened the door for their cart to pass.
