"Hurry up and get ready to head into the forest. Our main objective is to eliminate the demons. Protect your life first and retreat if you are badly injured."
The head guard instructed all the guards that gathered around him.
He was a good leader who cared about his people and did not want them to die in vain.
Yet, he couldn't escape the knowledge that battling demons would take a heavy toll. The burden of leadership weighed heavily on him, and he was already filled with remorse for having to lead this fight.
He and his group were ready to enter the forest when something golden shined in his side vision, and he halted.
As a figure, all too familiar, emerged from the forest, the head guard's fury surged, threatening to consume him.
"Sir, what is wrong? Why did we stop marching? I thought we were going to head inside the forest now?"
A guard asked with a confused expression on his face.
