The guard did not answer Promethea, and that made her nervous. She felt like she was falling into a trap set by these imperial soldiers, but she had no idea what they could be planning.
'Who is behind these soldiers and their moments? Has the emperor taken an interest in our family? Surely not! Did stepmother manage to attract the emperor's interest?'
Promethea bit her lip in agitation as her mind tried to poke her for answers. She felt as if she had hit a wall in her thinking.
The head guard was patient and waited for Promethea to finish thinking.
Somehow, she felt she was being taken seriously by the guard.
"I feel you people know what is happening but refuse to tell us. Is the emperor somehow involved in all of this?"
Promethea asked, and she suddenly felt like she made a mistake.
