It did not matter that the head maid had selected Sui, knowing that she had no backing. Sui had to follow what the head maid was about to tell her or risk getting punished.
"What are you waiting around for? Please hurry up and follow me. Or will you ignore me and insult Concubine Rose's honour?"
The head maid questioned, but now it was getting into dangerous territories.
Sui could still argue and say things as long as she talked to a headmaid, but as soon as a concubine was dragged into the conversation, it was over for Sui.
She had lost all grounds to resist or say anything back.
"I did not mean to be disrespectful, head maid. What do you want me to do?"
