"Duke, the princess is almost back at the palace. We got her message saying that she would arrive in half an hour. Would you like to go out and welcome her?"
The guard finally returned to bother Duke Victor once he was done lamenting his fate.
Duke Victor did not feel he had a choice in this matter. He needed Yunjin to be in an excellent mood to distract her while he carried out the Grand Priest's plan.
"I will be coming to meet Yunjin right now. Lead the way for me."
Duke Victor, his heart heavy, stepped out of his chamber. The air in the palace had changed palpably as the news of Yunjin's imminent return spread like wildfire.
Hopes were returning on people's faces as their fierce princess made her way back. But Duke Victor pitied these simple souls who did not know anything.
