"The Forest God was a tree, but he was the largest tree in the entire garden."
The Forest God had actually taken the form of a tree, which the elf didn't know since when he first came in contact with the Forest God, he was just a tree.
"Everyone, regardless of the species, adored the Forest God."
"So, when he died, everyone was devastated. In fact, we mourned for a long time."
Shiro listened to the elf's words quietly, not daring to interrupt the man at all.
"I know you have questions to ask me, go ahead," the man said as he turned to look at Shiro.
"How did the Forest God die?"
The elf smiled as he ruffled Shiro's hair.
"Well, how do I put it in words?"
The Forest God was stuck in his tree form for interfering with the mortals long before other Gods had descended. The rules of the heavens were strict, and hence, the punishment was being a tree for 1,000 years!
Unfortunately, he didn't survive that long.
