They decided to strike up a conversation with the soldiers, and as they approached, they were recognized. To their surprise, the soldiers greeted Alex and informed him that both groups were heading towards the mountains for a similar purpose. They suggested that they could join forces and venture together into the swamp, thus increasing their chances of success and safety during the journey.
After a brief encounter with the soldiers from Regalia, the heroes venture into the dark swamp following the Ether's instructions. Although the swamp initially appears calm and silent, they soon immerse themselves in an ominous atmosphere fraught with danger.
As they make their way through the muddy waters and twisted trees, the atmosphere becomes increasingly oppressive. Suddenly, breaking the eerie silence, drowned beasts begin to emerge, twisted and deformed creatures that attack ferociously both soldiers and heroes alike.
Amidst the chaos and confusion, one of the soldiers is dragged towards a nearby puddle by an invisible force. Upon closer inspection, they discover with horror that the puddle harbors a cunning creature, a beast that camouflages itself as part of the swamp to ensnare its prey and drag them to a certain death in the depths of the swamp.
As they struggle desperately to stay afloat and protect themselves from the onslaught of the drowned beasts, the heroes hear an ominous sound approaching from the distance. They soon discover the source: a Wendigo, a nightmare creature from mythology, emerges from among the trees.
The Wendigo is a terrifying sight, with its emaciated body covered in pale, tattered skin. Its eyes gleam with insatiable hunger, and its icy breath freezes the air around it. With sharp claws and grotesquely elongated teeth, the Wendigo lunges towards them with inhuman ferocity, unleashing chaos and destruction in its wake.
