Chapter 29 - The Fall of the Tower

Zephyrus, with a look of hatred and resentment, revealed his dark past as his words echoed in the ruins of the magical towers.

Zephyrus: "It was during the battle against the Demon King that my fate took a dark turn. As a mage, we were separated, and after many battles, I managed to escape unharmed, only to find that none of my comrades sought me out or tried to help me. I was abandoned in the Infernal Realm, where I was tortured and subjected to terrible torments by demons for years."

With his voice full of anger and bitterness, Zephyrus continued his tale, explaining how, consumed by rage, he ended the lives of the soldiers who didn't seek him out and celebrated spending in luxury without searching for him, by a twist of fate, he came across an apparently ordinary baby whom like he felt was abandoned in this world However, that child turned out to be the current Demon King, who, upon awakening his power, granted him strength and power without asking for anything in return, except the sacrifice of changing his body for that of a demon, thus acquiring the knowledge and power of the demons' infinite aura.

Zephyrus: "Since then, I swore to exact revenge on those despicable races that turned their backs on me when I gave my life to save them. My anger and thirst for vengeance led me to betray my own Kingdom and ally myself with the Demon King."

As Zephyrus's words filled the air with bitterness, a heavy silence hung over those present, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter filled with darkness and challenges.

Amidst the devastation caused by Zephyrus, Elrendar stood paralyzed by surprise and horror as the traitorous mage unleashed his deadly magic.

Elrendar: "Zephyrus, what are you...?"

Before he could finish his question, Zephyrus's gravity magic manifested with overwhelming intensity, engulfing Elrendar in a deadly embrace that dragged him to the ground with relentless force. Elrendar struggled to break free, but it was futile. With a final gasp of pain and desperation, his life faded away as Zephyrus's magic consumed him entirely.

Meanwhile, the magical towers trembled under Zephyrus's destructive power, their foundations shaken by the traitor's unleashed fury. With a deafening roar, the millennia-old structures began to crumble, their ancient stones cascading down as the magic that sustained them faded into the air.

In the chaos and destruction, Zephyrus disappeared, leaving behind only the echo of his malevolent laughter and a trail of desolation. The magical towers, symbols of knowledge and wisdom, now lay in ruins, a grim reminder of the betrayal and tragedy that had taken place.
