General Klasuv stood still as the one who seemingly took down his whole squad is right in front of him. His notable features is the white gas mask on his face, his green hair, and red eyes that identified him as a sentient. His clothes are those of rags but not enough to make him look like beggar. In a sense, he looked more like a survivor. If only Klasuv knew how true that was. Right behind the mentioned sentient is a large, white drakier. It's fangs are bared and is growling right at him.
"Look, I didn't mean to hurt anybody. This is all a complete misunderstanding" Jerome says.
"Misunderstanding? Don't try to fool me sentient. I know your kind. The Sentient Lord must have sent you here. A mistake on his part and especially yours since you are going to die today."
"I am not one of them! I didn't even know this place. I just stumbled around here. Believe me, I hate the Sentient Lord too. It would be a cold day in hell before I became one of his puppets."
"Then let me help you get there."
The general didn't waste any time and immediately fired numerous bullets towards them. Jerome and Whity avoided the bullets in rapid succession as they ran through the forest at a fast speed. The unfortunate trees are left with bullet holes and some are even taken down by it.
Klasuv stopped his firing when he noticed that he ran out of bullets so he tried to reload as fast as possible. Jerome saw his chance and immediately leaped towards him. Klasuv had barely enough time to react before being hit in the head with a vicious kick and followed by flame blast right in his chest. Fortunately, he managed to avoid the blast and shot Jerome right in the stomach. Jerome's eyes went wide as his guts was blown throughout his back. His intestines had flew through in mid-air before dropping to the ground. He let out a scream of pain but not without paying the general back with a flaming headbutt right in the face. The helmet cracked until the right side of his face was shown to the world. He was sent to the nearby tree causing it to fall to the ground. Klasuv tried to stand up but was quickly assaulted by the drakier. He was clawed quite viciously and then got flunked again towards the ground. He looked up and saw the drakier trying to pounce on him. He used his extra lightning coated tentacles and hit Whity with it right on his side. Whity howled in pain before being sent away towards the broken pile of dead trees.
Klasuv looked at the sentient and dashed towards him. Jerome saw this and inhaled a large amount of air before letting out a wide sea-like wave of dark flames. Klasuv's eyes are wide at the attack. It easily stood at 40 feet tall and is several times bigger in width. He had no choice but to flee as the unfortunate forest is rapidly burnt to ashes. Whity is luckily at a safe distance which is right behind Jerome. The same can't be said for the general through as the flames are slowly gaining on him. Though hee still continued to flee until the attack stopped and completely vanished from existence. He blinked before stopping at the nearby rocks. Once a luscious green forest are now replaced with burnt soil as the destruction of the attack had cleared out a huge chunk of the forest. Klasuv didn't stay idle as he immediately scanned the surroundings. He let out a curse as the Sentient and the drakier is nowhere to be found. He heard a noise from above and turn his head towards it. He cursed more as he realized that it's just the reinforcement. They had arrived too late.
Meanwhile at the far side of the forest, Jerome and Whity could be seen running with no intention to stop. They had to escape immediately as Jerome noticed the large number of aircrafts heading towards them. He is confident enough to wipe them all out but he didn't any needless bloodshed. Plus, making an enemy out of them while having the Sentient Lord already gunning to kill him is a really, really bad idea to begin with. For now, they have to lay low and wait for the issue to calm down.
After sometime, Jerome realized that they have ran far enough so they both decided to rest for a while as Jerome sat down at the nearby rocks. He looked at his stomach and saw the gaping hole.
However he was surprised when he noticed that his fatal wound is slowly closing up. 'What the- so I can regenerate now but not that fast.' He thought as the wound is now fully healed and looked as good as new. Just as it ended, Jerome suddenly experience a massive hunger. He clutched his stomach and felt like his insides are slowly digesting itself. Without wasting any time, he went out to hunt any nearby undead. It didn't take long for him to find one and quickly ate it with rapid pace. His lips are stained with blood and the poor undead is being torn apart. It didn't take long for him to finish his meal and by then he realized that his hunger had subsided. 'I need to look into this further' Jerome thought.
As Jerome is contemplating the strange phenomenon that happened to his body, the atmosphere at the aircraft is as tense as ever. The general is absolutely livid because of his failure during his encounter with the sentient. He was accompanied by soldiers that has the same uniform of his troops. At the back of the aircraft, there lay the fallen soldiers who had accompanied him during his pursuit with the sentient. All of them are unconscious but fortunately, they didn't sustain any severe injuries. The wide flame attack from before had made the general anxious of their survival since there is a high possibility that they could have been caught in the attack. Good thing that all of them are safe from the raging flames. It seems that the Sentient had not decided to kill them. Whatever was his reasons for doing what he did, he would never know however he couldn't help but get a small feeling of gratitude for that. That doesn't mean anything much in the long run though as Klasuv is still gonna kill him when he'll got a chance. His people comes first and foremost in his priority.
"General, we are here. The emperor will be expecting you." A random soldier said.
"Alright. I will go there ASAP."
At the center of the floating city, there stood a humongous structure. The building towered all the others and is easily distinguishable by the floating globe right on top of it. The general went inside and was greeted by people of well equipped armor and artillery. All of them are are armed to the bone and is quietly doing their job. They didn't pay attention to the general when he passed them and just continued to do their job.
At the top of the tower, their sat a man with short violet hair and wore a highly formal clothing. The door in front of his room opened and the general can be seen walking inside. His face didn't show any emotion but deep inside, he was shaking.
"My liege, you had called for me." Klasuv said. His years in service of the emperor had given him enough strength to not sound nervous but even now, he is still anxious when he's near the emperor.
"That I did. Tell me what happened."
With a small gulp, he quickly told the events that happened from moments prior. He didn't left everything out and only told the honest truth. The emperor then hummed in confirmation.
"What now, my liege?"
"Now, you don't have to worry about him. From what you told me, this sentient appears to harbor no malicious intent towards us so direct your focus more on strengthening our military power. The Sentient Lord is preparing for war as well so we shouldn't stay idle."
"B-but what if that sentient was a spy?" Klasuv cursed his stuttering but at least he was able to convey his thought.
"As I said, don't worry. I have that already taken care of. Now dismissed."
"Yes, my liege."
Klasuv then went out of the building leaving the emperor sitting in his hair while looking at the window. A few moments later, a person suddenly appeared and kneeled to where Klasuv previously stood.
"Nermaria, I have a task for you. I'm sure you've already heard about the report that Klasuv told me. Your mission is to find the sentient he mentioned and bring him to me. Alive if you will."
The figure only nodded silently before it vanished in the wind. The emperor took the glass cup on his table and drank its content. He stared at the window once again before letting out a sigh.
"What were you thinking, Juha."
The emperor was left in his throne to ponder his thoughts.
