MC POV
I burst into the room and saw the person I was supposed to save, as well as others who appeared to be guards or something similar.
The individual I had to save was relatively muscular and quite hairy. I noticed his unusual build even without fully transforming and regaining all of my perceptive abilities.
I pressed the center of my watch and returned to my human form. As I did so, I activated Zetsu, lowering my presence in the room.
After that, I used my mental power, specifically my telepathy ability inspired by Saiki, and created a mental channel between me and the man.
'Nice to meet you.'
"Damn—"
'QUIET! I'm here to help.'
When I heard him almost speak aloud, I communicated with a firmer voice inside his mind. Receiving my thought, he calmed down.
'I don't like people reading my mind.'
'I'm not reading it, nor do I plan to. I'm not a fan of doing that either. What I'm doing is creating a mental communication channel between us.'
'Okay… what exactly is going on, and who are you?'
He didn't seem to want to think too much and asked me through our telepathic link.
'I was sent by Professor Xavier and Ororo. We're infiltrating this base to free the mutants, including you.'
'As for myself… I'm someone close to Ororo, an outside help; they call me Immortal.'
Upon hearing my words, he stayed silent for a moment, then sighed and looked at me.
'I see, I'm Logan. And how do you plan on getting me out of here?'
'I'll handle everything.'
I replied and calmly approached him. I sensed his gaze trying to read something in me, but without any chance of success—between my divine power, armor, specialized gear, and Zetsu, he couldn't see anything. In fact, anyone trying to see through my disguise, even a god or a mage, would have a hard time, unless, of course, they destroyed my armor.
Without paying much attention, I moved to his handcuffs, extracting a bit more power and using Doa Doa no Mi to unlock the restraints on his wrists and hands.
Once I finished, I held onto his body and asked him to remain silent. I noticed his back was marked with blood due to sharp objects piercing his skin, but I knew he had some healing ability, so I focused on removing his collar first.
With a light green energy, I managed to unlock and remove the item, storing it in my inventory afterward.
I dusted off my clothes and approached the door while transmitting a thought to him.
'Stay silent, and let's prepare. Soon, two people should arrive to get you out. I'll keep them busy, and I have my own ways of leaving afterward.'
He didn't respond, but I saw his claws sharpening and extending deeply from his hands.
Unbothered, I released a strong energy onto the door.
"Doa Doa."
As if by magic, a normal-sized door appeared, and I stepped through with ease. My steps were silent and my presence hidden, though Logan's footsteps behind me were not.
Before long, they noticed something unusual and looked at me.
A woman with sharp, dangerous-looking claws radiated a deadly aura. The man beside her didn't seem as lethal but looked strong. Curiously, neither of them gave off a mutant aura; their bodies seemed enhanced by technologies and "human" methods, so to speak. I noticed metallic and unusual parts in their bodies, which didn't seem human or acquired through any innate ability but rather some form of human intervention.
In fact, I'd noticed similar signs in the individual named Logan, but his modifications appeared significantly more refined and perfected.
"Who are you?" the woman asked in a cold, menacing voice, especially as she glared at me, someone who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere and freed her most valuable prisoner. The man beside her also looked impatient.
"Me? Well, a wanderer? A hero of justice? Or just someone who accidentally opened something. Does it matter? Any chance we can be friends?"
I asked in a playful, sarcastic tone that only irritated her more. However, she didn't lose her patience but decided not to speak further.
She pointed her claw and sent the large, imposing man in my direction.
I brought my hands together and pointed them at him, with mana already coursing through my hands.
"Ice Make: Gorilla!"
As I spoke, a greenish-blue magic circle appeared in front of me, and the giant man's punch was met by a dense ice fist.
The gorilla staggered slightly but held its ground well. The appearance of this unusual ice gorilla, seemingly capable of movement, shocked everyone.
But I could tell that my ice gorilla wasn't fully equal to the big guy, though he was slightly smaller.
I made another move.
My fists shifted slightly to the right, and I activated another spell.
"Ice Make: Leopard."
Another magic circle appeared, and from it, a large, greenish-blue ice leopard emerged, attacking the big man. The combined attack knocked him far back.
I controlled them lightly and gave precise commands. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to defeat him since I could tell from a distance that his skin seemed tougher and he had good strength, though his speed and agility seemed somewhat restricted. At the very least, he should be held back for a moment.
While observing, my Haki detected an approaching danger, but I calmly activated my Borg.
Sharp claws attempted to breach my powerful energy shield, and I saw they managed to cause cracks and penetrate the Borg.
Intrigued, I grew more curious about this metal… I also recalled a few rare, "theoretical" materials I'd read about on Earth.
Before I could react, she withdrew her claws and faced Logan's claws.
"Clang!!"
The metallic friction echoed as their blows clashed. Logan seemed more refined and capable than she was, and even his metal seemed better made. I also noticed that his wounds had fully healed.
Intrigued, I remembered Oro's remark about his regenerative abilities.
I watched them fight briefly until I received a call.
"Immortal, this is Blink. We've extracted everyone; it's just you and the last person left. Should we come?"
Hearing his words, I replied without delay.
"Okay, come on."
As I answered, the wind gathered at my feet, and a lightsaber appeared in my hand.
Without hesitation, I moved alongside my opponent, my energy blade active with a powerful white light. Wind gathered around part of my hand, and I channeled internal energy, executing an incisive blow drawn from Madara's sword techniques.
The attack drove her back several meters, though I could sense strong resistance from her metal.
What intrigued me even more… I really want to try to take a piece of it… and inspect it with the arthropod…
I quickly pulled my thoughts back and continued striking her with speed and force while sending a telepathic message.
'Fall back; your exit is coming.'
He listened and seemed to wait.
I smiled as I continued to attack. To test things further, I created an ice sword in my left hand and attacked her from the opposite side.
My movements, blended with Madara's kenjutsu and the swordsmanship of *Wind and Cloud*, confused her and allowed me to fight her without much difficulty. My speed, supported by my physique, senses, and traces of Qi and ancient power, made the fight harder for her. However, my blue, icy sword broke easily.
But I had no problem creating another ice sword and continuing to strike. Soon, my spatial sensitivity and Haki detected spatial movement, and with a sidelong glance, I saw Blink and Iceman appear.
Unfortunately, they weren't the only ones to show up; the door opened, and heavily armed individuals with various weapons entered. As soon as they emerged, they didn't hesitate to attack. Iceman quickly created an ice barrier that prevented their attacks from hitting my allies.
I didn't intervene for now, even though their energy weapons seemed capable of penetrating the ice and aiming at them. However, Blink created purple and blue portals in front of the attack and redirected it back toward the enemies.
I smiled as my eyes sparkled… her use of spatial power is quite interesting and fluid… it impressed me.
I continued attacking her casually, while on the other side, the large man seemed to be in a deadlock against my two ice magic creations.
'Leave quickly,' I sent a telepathic message to Blink and Iceman.
They both decided to act, with ice forming around Iceman and Blink closing her eyes, ready to retreat.
To be safe, I shifted part of my focus and spread my Haki over a larger area. A faint scream echoed within my mental sea. As she prepared to create the portal and the others were ready to enter, I felt a strong sense of danger and immediately used a reasonable amount of internal energy to teleport next to Blink.
As I arrived, I felt a sharp weapon pierce my armor and graze my skin. It didn't wound me deeply because my darkness power held back the damage, but the sensation of the injury annoyed me.
Directing my mental power to my eyes, I saw him—an invisible figure in front of me wielding something like a sharp blade made of the same material as that woman's claws, apparently a mutant working for the enemy.
Our eyes met, and he clearly froze, feeling the impact of my mental power and lineage devastating his mind. I was irritated, but before I could do anything, sharp claws stabbed into his back. He had no chance; his life drained instantly, and he lost invisibility as his body was flung away with a strong kick, of course was logan that did that without hesitation.
I didn't react, and fast as ever i felt something fall beside me—a weird grenade.
Initially, wich made me calm, I sensed no danger, but it didn't take long to be proven wrong. A faint red gas dispersed, attempting to invade our space. I felt no change, but I saw its effect on my allies. I noticed immediately that Robert and Blink's abilities began to falter, and though Logan's claws seemed unaffected, I imagined his healing ability must be impaired.
"A technology that restricts mutant abilities…"
As if amused, I heard a voice nearby.
"Well, what do you think? Now, you won't be able to use your powers. This new technology uses airborne particles to limit mutant abilities… you should thank some of your American generals for creating something so ingenious, beyond just the collars."
I could see my companions' mild surprise, especially Blink and Iceman. The enemies' attacks subsided as they seemed to think they could suppress and capture us now.
I wasn't concerned and smiled lightly, a hint of mockery in my expression.
In my mental sea, there was a faint roar from an ancient beast, and a strong mental energy focused on a beautiful silver crown at the peak of my mental world.
As it activated, an ancient power of domination and oppression filled the entire area, targeting all enemies while providing support and courage to allies.
"My apologies… but I am not a mutant." My smile was calm, carrying an undeniable air of arrogance and authority as a faint silhouette of a crown appeared behind me, quickly vanishing and united by a barely visible presence of an ancient beast.
