The wind propelled me forward at high speed, allowing me to spot the island in the distance rather quickly. It was a large island, and as I approached, I noticed a thin layer of energy covering it. My enhanced Eyes of God, bolstered by my Qi and mental power, allowed me to scan the island's geography. First, I saw the beach, followed by tropical vegetation and some rocks. In the distance, I spotted buildings and soldiers stationed around.
Although my vision didn't reveal everything, it provided enough detail to discern the general layout of the base, including the positioning of people and structures. The area I planned to enter was relatively small, with sandy patches and rocks, and there was no one present.
I stopped in front of the barrier, with soft winds swirling around me. My eyes and Haki of Vision analyzed the barrier; it wasn't particularly strong. A few shots from a regular weapon could create a small crack, and I figured I could break through it easily with my magic or internal energy. A massive ice hammer, for example, would make it relatively simple to open a small breach. The barrier's primary purpose seemed to be to stop stealthy intruders. Even if someone managed to crack it, the security system would be alerted.
However, I opted for a more discreet and practical approach to avoid triggering any alarms. A blue-green energy flowed from my hand, shaping into a door-like form around the barrier.
"Doa Doa," I whispered, and the barrier opened effortlessly for me.
There was no alarm or difficulty in creating the entrance. The power of the Doa Doa no Mi allowed me to mold anything—even human bodies—into doors, capable of opening anything without setting off alerts.
I landed softly on the island's sand.
As soon as I touched down, I flicked my hand to the side, releasing a swarm of bees that spread out, gathering intel for me. At the same time, I expanded the power of my eyes and my mental Haki to carefully inspect the environment.
Once I had a decent understanding of my surroundings, I moved swiftly among the trees and terrain. My speed was extreme, though I hadn't fully activated my wind-based powers. I moved silently, my footsteps a blend of ninja and assassin techniques—borrowed from the Zoldycks and Madara Uchiha, who had perfected such arts.
I leapt between trees and rocks, moving cautiously but steadily.
As I delved deeper into the island, I finally identified a facility with gray cement-like walls, giving it a clean, serious appearance. The building stood about four stories high and stretched out horizontally with additional structures. Using my senses, I detected a sizable underground area as well.
I paused near one of the buildings, recalling the general layout of the base and the pre-prepared plans. My primary mission was to infiltrate one of their core systems and energy centers, where I would install two small chips. These would allow both Danger and Hank to release a virus and gain remote access.
My eyes scanned the walls and base structures from afar, gathering as much data as possible before I activated my power again.
"Air Door."
With that, the air itself parted, creating an entrance to a special dimension. This dimension was akin to a smaller, more constrained version of the Mirror World, with some unique quirks.
I stepped inside and closed the door. Everything around me turned green; there was no sound or signal. But within this dimension, I could see everything happening around me and could open any door. However, there were some frustrating limitations—no sound perception, reduced olfactory senses, and constraints on my mental powers. The dimensional energy inside also restricted my abilities. I could only use my wind power to float slowly at low altitude.
I passed through walls and areas of the facility effortlessly.
Along the way, I saw people moving about. Some were dressed in formal clothes, others looked like scientists, and some were military personnel carrying weapons and some technology.
However, there weren't many people around, likely due to security protocols.
Continuing on, I moved to an area still above ground that served as the communication point and activation center for the main defensive systems. My footsteps were light in the hallways, and I soon found the necessary spot and passed through, almost as if I were walking through a door.
Inside, I saw several individuals working on computers and other systems. One part of the room seemed to be dedicated to the military base's energy defense generator, while the other side dealt with information and sensor/radar systems.
The people in the room seemed relatively normal, but one person caught my attention. It was a woman, slightly taller than average. I couldn't clearly make out her features or sense her energy, but something about her felt off. I wasn't sure if she was a mutant, but she definitely seemed unusual... particularly her hands and nails, which appeared scarred and seemed to have been surgically repaired. Strangely, I could even see traces of metal emerging from them.
I squinted, but decided not to concern myself with it for the time being.
First, I moved to the shield generator. In front of it, I opened a small portal in the air. Only my hand emerged, placing a small device at two points on the shield generator. After that, I closed the portal and moved to the computer and alert area.
This time, I placed three small devices. As before, I opened a small portal in the air through which only my hand could pass. Thanks to my Zetsu ability and my silent, precise movements, no one noticed my presence. Two of the devices were Hank's, but the third was mine. It was meant to allow the Anturian to infiltrate the military data and help me interfere with their systems. Even though I trusted Auntie and her team, I preferred to have my own contingencies. After all, this was a military base studying mutants, and they likely had some special measures, even if not many.
After setting everything up, I decided to be a bit bolder.
I opened a small portal in the air, but this time I let one of my eyes peek through. Using a trace of my internal and mental energy, I focused directly on the strange woman, aiming to understand her energy and oddness. However, the moment I started analyzing her energy, I had to close the portal quickly.
Where the portal had been, metal claws pierced through the space directly. Thankfully, I had closed it in time, avoiding the attack. I saw some individuals in the room conversing with her as she frowned, looking toward the area where I had opened the portal, as well as at other spots in the room.
After a few seconds, she seemed puzzled but dismissed it, returning to the chair she had been in. My gaze lingered on her for a moment, but I eventually left the room. Before leaving, I released a few of my bees into the room, hoping they would monitor the area and keep an eye on this curious individual.
I continued walking through the base, now planning to carry out the second part of my mission: helping the mutants escape, as well as exploring the base.
At that moment, I received a message from my system.
**
The watch on my wrist emitted a green light, and new images appeared. One depicted a ghost wrapped in chains, and the other showed a floating goo with what seemed to be an alien ship hovering above it.
Then, the second notification appeared.
With that, I began reviewing the mission's description.
