Chapter 62 - A flash of the father's truth..but still far away.

Four days later...

I was standing in a snowy field.

In front of me was a woman dressed entirely in white. She raised her hand, and numerous ice plants came flying toward me. I clasped my hands together and shouted, "Ice Make Shield!"

As I made the movement, a large, light blue ice shield formed, blocking the incoming attacks. It protected me as I gently slid back, creating small ice skates on my feet to help me move faster across the snowy terrain.

I watched her from a distance and raised both hands, but this time, they weren't joined. A magic circle appeared in my right hand, glowing a greenish-blue, and from it, several ice eagles flew toward her. They appeared alive and fierce, moving with great speed.

In my left hand, a pinkish-blue magic circle appeared, and thorny roses flew toward her as well.

Amid this battlefield, a garden of roses and eagles charged at the woman. However, she seemed unfazed. She raised her hand, and ice giants appeared, easily fending off the attack and crushing it with sheer brute force.

The fight continued for a while, with snow and ice attacks coming from the woman, and ice attacks of different colors coming from me—animals, inanimate objects, and roses/gardens. The battle lasted until I grew tired and stopped the field.

When that happened, everything returned to its previous state, and I left the training field.

Back in my hotel room, I took a shower, washing away the sweat and exhaustion from the training. I had spent days in the space, and the toll was considerable.

After refreshing myself, I put on a pair of dark red shorts, a nice beige shirt, and sandals. Then I lay down on the bed and took out a book on the Asgardian language that I had received earlier. I read it while, in my other hand, a small ice rabbit appeared, playing with me as my mana gently connected to and controlled it. During these four days, I had used up much of the virtual training space's time capacity, which equated to about two years, due to the time dilation.

With focused and intense training in this environment, I absorbed a great deal of inherited knowledge and trained eagerly to put it into practice and implement some of my own ideas.

"Knock, knock, knock."

"Son, it's me. It's time for us to leave."

Hearing my father's voice, I dismissed the ice magic and opened the door.

"Of course. I've got everything packed, we can leave."

My father was wearing sunglasses and looked relaxed.

"Let's go."

We headed to the car, and when we arrived, I saw Coulson.

Seeing him, I smiled slightly. He seemed like a reasonably good person, and I could feel that, but something told me he might be a bit tricky to deal with.

"It's a pleasure to see you, Mr. Coulson."

"The pleasure is mine," he said, shaking my hand. He had a calm expression, and his eyes seemed to be searching for something in me, but I smiled calmly.

"By the way, did you hear about the events that happened a while back? I understand you're friends with Miss Jane and Mr. Erik."

"Well, you could say I'm friends with them. As for the events, I'm not too sure, aside from what my duties brought me here for. The rest… well, S.H.I.E.L.D. has done a good job containing most of the news, hasn't it?"

He paused for a second but responded with political tact.

"Our agency's duty is simply to protect the world from unusual events."

"That's true," I replied simply. I have mixed feelings about that. It's true that ignorance can lead to a calmer, more manageable public, especially among ordinary people. However, it's something I still question. After all, mutants are already public knowledge, making some things inevitable. Not to mention the countless other unusual events and things out there.

Like the recent gods' events in New Mexico, or the fact that Peter gained powers through a scientific experiment, or what happened with Captain America.

And for some reason, I feel like things are going to keep escalating.

Regardless of my thoughts, I continued making casual conversation without much concern, and later, my father and I got into the car.

My father was driving, and as soon as we got in, he looked at me. I knew what he wanted, and I had an idea of what I needed to do.

My eyes glowed with a cold, energetic blue, and my Haki spread throughout the car. I quickly sensed a small, unusual item within the car's structure.

My eyes sharpened, and I saw that behind a small section of the glove compartment, there was a tiny black object. I opened the compartment, retrieved the item, and without hesitation, broke it and threw it out the window.

"You can speak now, Dad."

He looked at me with a soft smile.

"Son, I know I mentioned this to you before... but I'll probably have to leave after we get back. I need to search for your grandmother or, more specifically, investigate some things with some of our distant relatives... there's a situation I need to check out."

Looking at my father, I was surprised. I knew our family secrets were related to my grandparents and my father's relatives, who were never mentioned. I was itching with curiosity.

Sensing this, my father gently patted my head and kissed my forehead.

"Relax, son. I know you want to know more. But it's not time yet. These are complicated matters... both your mother and I have had difficult, complex pasts... mine won't amount to anything right now. So it's better if you don't know. I just need to gather some information and confirm a few things."

Hearing this, I looked at him, nodded, and decided not to ask for more details. Then I changed the subject.

"Do you want me to come help? I'm quite capable, and I know you're aware of that."

He smiled at my words and flicked my forehead.

"I know. If it's necessary, I'll let you know."

I looked at him and didn't ask anything further, just nodding slightly.

After that, we talked about the events from a few days ago, what I witnessed in Asgard, the battle with the Destroyer, and other experiences.

...

After some time at the airport and a flight, we returned to New York.

As we exited the arrival gate, I saw something that brought a warm, happy smile to my face.

Three people, clearly quite noticeable, were waiting for us with a sign that read:

**WELCOME HOME, FAMILY**

Holding the sign was my mother, dressed in a beautiful, dark blue dress, radiating beauty and charm with her flowing, night-like hair.

Beside her was my adorable little brother, wearing the disguise I had given him—a mask with black hair, a small red jacket, and shorts. He had a bright smile on his face and was excited to see his father and older brother.

And finally, the third person, with brown hair and eyes as sweet as honey, looked at me with infinite love that seemed to radiate from the sheer affection he felt. He was wearing a nice sweater and had a gentle aura about him.

My father and I immediately quickened our pace toward them.
