A House in Queens
A moving truck pulled up in front of a house in Queens. Stepping out of it, a tall man carefully cradled a baby in his arms. The infant had black hair with a slightly unnatural blue tint and bright green eyes that shimmered with a golden glow at the edges. He was plump, adorable, and bore a striking resemblance to his father, though with a touch of delicate beauty.
Following the man, a woman emerged from the truck. She was tall, elegant, and breathtakingly beautiful, with hair as dark as the night. She wore a flowing blue dress that accentuated her grace.
"Gabriel, where is my little Adrian?" she asked, her voice warm and affectionate.
Gabriel smiled and gently lifted the baby. "Right here, darling. And what do you think of our new house?"
She turned to look at the house, a soft smile gracing her lips as she whispered, "I love it… but, baby, are you really sure you want to leave the field?"
He looked at her tenderly before leaning in to place a kiss on her lips.
"Yes. At least for the early years. You also put your own battles on hold for our family, so it's only right that I do the same. Besides, office and lab work aren't so bad," he reassured her.
She hugged both her husband and their child tightly. "Thank you, my love…"
At the same time, baby Adrian gazed up at his parents with curious eyes. His mother, noticing this, moved her fingers slightly, creating tiny glowing orbs of light—visible only to him.
"Our little secret," she whispered with a knowing smile.
Gabriel glanced toward the house and spoke again. "Let's go inside. The team is already bringing in the rest of the furniture. I should also check out the office this afternoon, just to get a feel for things."
"Alright, let's go," Niph, his wife, agreed.
MC's POV
Inside the baby's room, lying in a crib…
O… so I really have been reincarnated. And I have amazing parents.
Remembering the scene with them made me happy. This new life, where I had people who cared for and loved me, felt like a blessing.
But something made me pause—my mother's glowing lights. They appeared out of nowhere… Was she human? A superhuman, like someone with a Quirk from Boku no Hero? Or was it magic? My father didn't seem to have any abilities like that…
As I pondered, I suddenly noticed something ahead of me—a floating ball of light, resembling a plush toy, along with a translucent screen that only I could see.
'Umm… I should call you System, right?'
'Yesss, Master! That's my name!!'
The little glowing ball bounced around excitedly before rubbing against me like an affectionate pet.
Intrigued, I shifted my gaze to the text displayed on the floating screen.
[System Activation]
[Hello! I am the System—a gift granted to you to help make your life easier and protect you. My functions draw inspiration from various worlds you have encountered in your past life. However, there are certain conditions for obtaining them, which I will explain later. To outsiders, the System will appear as a unique and special ability.]
[This world is vast and not always what it seems. Magic, sorcery, and witchcraft exist, alongside technology far beyond that of your previous world. There are aliens, enhanced humans, secret organizations, hidden schemes, monsters, and beings from mythologies—even so-called "gods." It is crucial to stay cautious, Host.]
[As for your family… you will discover more details in time. For now, know this: you were born into a good family in Queens, New York, with comfortable living conditions. Your mother's name is Niph, and your father's name is Gabriel. Your name is Adrian Henutse.]
I wonder where my mother fits among all those categories…
Regardless, the System itself caught my attention.

Hah, it really is just like the systems in all those books I read… This is awesome!
First, let's check my status.

Nothing extraordinary… for now. But still, this is so cool!
I glanced at my titles. One was a little embarrassing, but it made me happy. And that question mark next to "Human"… could it be because of my mother?
Well, no use dwelling on that now.
'System, I want to open my gifts.'
The little glowing orb responded enthusiastically, bouncing into the air.
Then, as if by magic, it spat out several boxes of different shapes and sizes, each representing a gift.
It even changed its appearance, now dressed like a game show host, looking incredibly excited to reveal the prizes.
