Childbirth was particularly awful for Yelena. Alone in her little cottage, seated with legs open on the bathroom floor, she screamed as she bled. The bastard was practically forcing its way out of her, she thought. She pushed, and she could swear she heard something rip. She would heal as soon as this was over, but it didn't make it less painful. Even in birth, this child was determined to be the death of her.
It had already tried to kill her once when she stabbed her stomach in an attempt to get rid of the fetus, but she had been the one to bleed out instead. She hated it but didn't have any other choice than to take the pregnancy to full term, and now, yet again, this child wanted her dead.
