Davien stood in the middle of the Grand Chambers with the elders looking down at him. He didn't understand why he had to stand in the middle of the room as though he were on trial, but Davien ignored this and simply recounted how he was healed as briefly as he could.
His father was seated amongst them. His mother was nowhere to be seen—she had never really cared for politics and unless her input was needed, she preferred to stay away from these sorts of meetings. His brother was seated next to his father, while his own seat was empty.
Misha was also in the room, clinging to a corner. Beside her was Stelian, standing with his arms behind his back. Davien realized this was the first time he had laid eyes on Misha since the incident, and he had more than a few things to tell her. She caught his stare and smiled at him. He glared at her, but his attention was quickly drawn away as Florence started speaking.
