"Do you enjoy getting on my nerves?" she asked, glaring daggers at him.
His expression changed briefly. "Is that possible?" he asked. "You seem to hate me no matter what I do."
"Hate is a strong word," Bel said as she stared him down, refusing to be intimidated by the look in his eyes.
"So you don't hate me?" He raised an eyebrow.
"No, I dislike you. There's a difference. You can't possibly be worth my hatred," she casually explained.
"Ah, is that so?" he said, slowly rising to his feet. "I don't know if I should feel glad or insulted."
"That's your business. You asked a question, and I answered." She took a step back, preparing to head for the door.
Davien grabbed her wrist, closing the gap between them. Bel was forced to tilt her head back to look at his face. "Since we are simply answering questions, I'll give you my answer. I quite like you," he said, studying her expression.
