"So, how was it?" Hazel asked when Bel was done eating. The savory aroma of roasted chicken, hot soup, and freshly baked bread permeated her room even though she was done with the meal.
"The food was delicious, thank you," Bel replied as she wiped the corner of her lips with a napkin and placed the folded napkin on the side of her plate. She pushed the dishes closer to the middle of the round table.
"You know that's not what I am talking about," Hazel whispered, she peered at her sister as she sat across from her.
"Then what else could you have been possibly talking about?" Bel asked, feigning ignorance. She turned to look at her sister, wondering if Hazel would push it, her expression gave nothing away.
Hazel seemed to read the mood. "Don't worry about it," she replied, dropping the subject and slowly stood to her feet. "I will call the servants to come clean this up. You should get some rest; I know you're tired."
