Chapter 248 - Most Important

After Bel cleaned up and ate the dinner Mallory cooked, she was so exhausted that all she wanted to do was sleep—and sleep she did. By the time she woke up, the light was turned on, and Davien was not by her side.

Bel sat upright and listened, but it was pretty clear there was no one else in the quarters but her. She sniffed as she smelled something familiar. Rosemary. It lingered in the air as if it had just been used, and Bel could tell she had just missed him. He could have woken her up before leaving, but knowing Davien, he would most likely say he had not wanted to bother her.

She rolled out of bed with a yawn. She had so much to do today. The first and most important thing was to see Brian—she wanted to know how her horse was doing. The next, and equally important, was to take the horse for a ride. Though her body hurt from the days of carriage rides, Bel did not care.

"Riding clothes, Giselle," Bel said as the maid helped her get ready for the day.
