Davien clenched his stomach muscles as Bel ran her fingers across his skin. He could feel her warm breath on his skin. He didn't get why she was so close. Her scent overwhelmed him, and it certainly didn't help that he could hear the slight increase of her heartbeat, coupled with the fact that her neck was in clear view.
Davien swallowed and put both his hands behind his head; it was either that or he might pull her head backward and lock lips with her, or better still, dig his fangs that were threatening to overgrow into her neck.
"I didn't hit you that hard," she said and traced the outline of the redness on his skin. It was hard to tell if she really cared about that or if she was messing with him.
