Bel didn't know when she fell asleep. One minute, she was trying to chase Davien off, and the next, she was fighting to keep her eyes open. If she fell asleep now, it would mean she could only sleep in his presence, and she didn't want that to be true. But the harder she tried to stay awake, the sleepier she became. Soon enough, she lost the battle and slept soundly, not once stirring.
Bel's eyes suddenly flew open, meeting Davien's gaze. He grinned at her, and she tossed a pillow at him. He caught it in front of his face, then poked his head out from the corner. "Looks like someone slept very well."
"What are you doing here?" she asked, moving to a sitting position and rubbing her eyes.
"Hmm, did you forget?" he asked, dropping the pillow on the bed.
"Forget what?" she asked when he didn't say anything more.
"I'm the reason you were able to get any sleep."
"No, you're not!" she said, tossing the pillow back at him.
