Bel didn't mount her horse to leave the village until it was almost time for dinner. It hadn't taken long for her to heal Evelyn, and afterward, she and Vanessa had scolded the older woman. Vanessa had thanked her, and Bel couldn't help the happiness that filled her heart. After that, she had healed as many others as she could.
She grabbed the reins with a smile as she turned Brian around to lead him to the gate. Healing was when she felt her best. She tightened her grip on the reins as she prepared to set out, looking down at Vanessa and Evelyn, who had stubbornly insisted on seeing her off.
"Thank you, Princess," the older woman said, her smile revealing missing teeth.
"You're welcome," Bel replied. "No more climbing trees, Evelyn, please." Bel couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. She never imagined she would have to convince someone that old not to climb trees. Why was she even climbing trees in the first place?
