Vergil POV

I was sleeping peacefully, since I started my training I have never taken a nap, this is probably the first time that I have slept during day

I was feeling my comfortable it felt as if I was on a soft cushion

'Cushion…. Wait I was supposed to be leaning against a tree'

With difficulty I opened my eyes what came in view was a flawless face and golden eyes with green hue, her hands going through my hair making me feel very good

'Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.... Ahhh' my brain was crashing 

What's happening how am on Sunniva' s lap, I wanted to get up but

My body won't listen to my commands

'Ah my body betrayed me….' I was really feeling very good but at the same time having a fierce battle in my mind

'Get up, don't get up. Get up, don't get up, GET UP, DON'T GET UP' a warzone between rationality and desire 

I Don't know how long later I was able to overcome my desire 

I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me

"Good evening" she said

I hurriedly got up from her lap and opened up some distance

"Y-Yeah G-good evening" I wasn't able to get my bearings together 

"Sunniva?" I asked her

"Sleeping, what else" she said as she tilted her head

"That's not the point, I am asking how did I get to your lap" I said as much face twitched 

"Don't you like it my mother always does that to me" she said as she made an innocent face

I was speechless and I cannot deny that I liked the lap pillow 

'She is doing this on purpose…. She is definitely doing this on purpose' my inner monologue

"You can't do this with people other than family" it would seem she lack some common sense 

"Vergil also lent me his shoulder, didn't you?" She said as she smiled

"That that….that's different" I said as I was flustered 

"How?" She asked curiously 

"That….." as I was thinking how to salvage the situation I heard Mays voice

"Young Master, it's time" May told

'thank god May came' I said to myself

" Okay let's go it's time to eat" I said as I extended my hand to Sunniva 

She took my hand and stood up

I patted the grass off my clothes as I went to May 

Yeah let's go 

May looked confused seeing me running

Behind me I did not noticed the sly eyes of a certain elf 

I spent the lunch in panic 

Thankfully mother said she can take care of Sunniva for a while

After bidding farewell AI made my way towards the library 

I need to understand the basics of alchemy

After reaching Library seeing the familiar area I was able to relax a little 

I took out all the books I bought from the store also the Petroglyph then I remembered about the Herb

'Ah I left it in the garden… Well May will take care of it's I was lazy to go back

I arranged the books and started from history of alchemy and than to basics 

Hours flew by without me noticing as I was immersed in the fascinating world of alchemy 

According to the books alchemist also have many levels that showcases there abilities 

From lowest to highest 

Grade 1 to Grade 5 

After that

Master Alchemist 

Grandmaster Alchemist

That's the highest so far seen today but according to history there are two more ranks that in modern times no one have managed to achieve at least that's what is said in the book

These ranks are 

Legendary Alchemist

 whose elixirs can even bring dead back to life also extending lifespan is child play for them

Divine Alchemist 

Not much is known about these beings but they have truly mastered the essence of alchemy such that they can alter the natural laws of the world 

There is a special organization that is formed by alchemists, called the Alchemist Association.

They assess and verify alchemist and there proficiency in the art of alchemy 

Alchemy is a very respected profession no matter where in the world you go alchemist are always given privilege's

While it seems all roses and sunshine that not the case the aptitude of becoming the alchemist is very rare, one must have sufficiently high mental power, because mental power is the core energy to initiate a transmutation one of the basic aspect of Alchemy

Secondly one must have incredibly high affinity with the elements specifically an attack element and a support element 

Attack element like Fire thunder wind etc.

Support element like Wood light shadow etc.

I already have a high affinity in attack elements also my mental power is extremely strong, the reason why I am able to detect people around me even if they are hidden is also due to my high mental power

As for support element I have a high affinity for shadow while my affinity for wood is on the lower side but it can be compensated by other factors

Also we need bunch of tools for assisting in the process of forming potion A crucible is required for where potions will be made, also one has to have high grade wood on which you have to engrave a transmutation circle 

Much like magic Alchemy also has a circle but there is a fundamental difference between alchemy's circle and a magic circle 

A magic circle represents stability and connection between runic enchantments drawn from one mana on one's heart, it can also be sought as a container for allowing to channel mana properly

While Alchemy circle represent the Conservation of materials basically alchemy is all about changes with in the matter ,you can not get anything of you don't provide something, precious herbs will have high effect the, Alchemist uses his energy and understanding of matter to convert the essence of ingredients into something that can provide beneficial or harmful effect on the environment or races, basically the higher the ones understanding affinity and mental power the more easily and efficiently they can bring out the properties of materials

That is why alchemy is not only useful in forming potions but it can also be used in refining weapons also alchemist can also use their knowledge in combat those are special alchemist they are called War alchemist

War Alchemist are considered important weapons for ones country so there identity and cultivation is a state secret 

"I will think about War alchemist latter" I muttered putting this matter on the back side of my mind

I already have practiced some of the basics the basic material for making some grade 1 potions have been already bought from the Auction house

There is one more thing even among grade's of alchemical potions there are distinctions

Lower

Intermediate

Advanced

Peak 

Currently I am trying to make Lower Grade 1 potion Fasting elixir, it can relieve one's hunger for 24 hours it's one of the most common and cheapest potion it ingredient are also relatively simple and cheap major ingredients are: Fennel Seeds, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Root, Fresh Mint Leaves

After following the proper instructions and steps after 30 minutes later using the transmutation circle I was able to observe the change of matter more intuitively but suddenly as if the connection was broken 

Boom

A small explosion occur 

"Cough Cough cough thank god I have shadow weaver on otherwise I would be injured" I coughed away the black smoke

"Young master are you alright" May's anxious voice came from behind me

"Ahhh.. May what are you doing here, I said as I rubbed off the dirt from my face

"Master are you alright, you are not injured are you, I told you be carefull, alchemy is not a simple process…." and there goes May's nagging mode

"Okay Okay May I am fine, I am also wearing Shadoweweaver so I am fine.. Look" I said as I showed my uninjured body

"Master but, it's still dangerous" May still worrying over me

"Fine, you can watch me and I will be careful" I said as I began rearranging the material and thought about my previous attempt 

'What went wrong' I contemplated

I visualized the entire process in my mind as I found the problem to be in transmutation circle, The circle did not seem to be properly etched in the Board

This time I carefully engraved the circle into a new piece of wood, and repeated the process, this time there was no explosion but the mixing of ingredient was not proper, so the potion was redundant

"How troublesome" I muttered as I went to try again

Eventually after 5 unsuccessful attempt I was able to make a the right potion a bright light formed in the crucible and the transmutation was successful 

A colorless potion was in the crucible 

"Success" I clapped my hands 

A successful fasting potion is colorless odorless and tasteless, I checked the first two parts 

I transferred to a special potion bottle that can maintain the efficacy of the potion for some time, these bottles are also made of special materials and have special inscription to prevent the loss of efficacy of potion over long period of time

I looked at the potion in my hand,

My first successful potion

I opened the lid and brought it close to my mouth but I was stopped by May

"Young master it can be poisonous" she said as she stopped me from consuming the potion

"Don't worry all the material used were common non toxic ingredients" I reassured May

As I drank the potions 

It was bland as water but after a few moments, I felt the feeling of satiety like I ate a big meal 

"It works… It works May , my potion is successful" I happily celebrated

"Young master you are not feeling anything strange are you" still worried

"Yeah I am fine, also I feel extremely full " I explained my situation

"Congratulations young master, you have taken your first step in becoming an alchemist. Lord and Madam would be proud of you" After confirming I was fine she also was very happy at my success

"Yeah" I looked at the potion bottle now half full, feeling quite happy

"Now its time to perfect the technique" I muttered as I started the process again
