Vergil POV
As I watched them preparing to eat the snacks, The unease still lingered around.
Firstly, the security was too tight like they are guarding against something.
Secondly, the timing of the maid was too coincidental.
Thirdly, I can not feel the security around this area like the one felt from- before.
All these points make up perfectly for any kind of plot to occur, and to top it off both me and Eliza are also with Lady Eleanor. we can be used either as scapegoats or will be disposed off. Thinking about how could they plot against us
Its highly unlikely they will use poison because there are many ways to detect poison, expect for some rare and powerful poison that cannot be detected, but I don't believe such poisons will be used here, But they could have drugged the food and mixed something to make us sleep for a long period of time and either to make us incapacitated. As I was pondering about the situation I saw both Eliza and lady Eleanor preparing to eat the food
"Eliza, Lady Eleanor don't eat the food" I said in a hurry in attempt to stop them
Both them looked at me strangely
"What do you mean Vergil" Eliza asked puzzled by my behavior
I knew that my behavior was odd and I don't have any concrete evidence, but my instinct is telling me something big is about to happen, since I came to this world my hunch has never been wrong so I decided to do something
"The food has been drugged" I finally told them my conjecture
"what nonsense are you saying, are you trying to accuse my house of drugging me" Lady Eleanor clearly angry at my remarks
I knew this would happen, but it would seem Eliza can still be reasonable
"lady Eleanor calm down may be Vergil is right" Eliza said also little unsure of my claim but still attempting to calm the situation
"No Eliza I cant take it any more, He, a weakling dares to make accusation on my house" Lady Eleanor said clearly her rage out of control as she began to release her aura It was a beautiful green color as it materialized around her
Her aura directed at me as she was ready to teach me a lesson, I kind of expected the result so I was not surprised now it would be how I can make them believe me
"Lady Eleanor, please do not misunderstand I have no intention of blaming your family, all I am trying to say is that someone is trying to harm you" I said trying make Lady Eleanor understand the situation.
"Lady Eleanor why don't we listen to Vergil first" Eliza said trying to find the middle way
Eleanor looked at Eliza and saw her hopeful eyes than looked me her eyes full of scrutiny and rage as she slowly pulled back her aura
"Say and you better have a good reason" She said clearly still angry
"Thank you for the chance" I said as I breathed a sigh of relief
"The thing is....." then I explained the reason behind my suspicions
Eliza was really the smartest of them she clearly understood first
"It does fell a little suspicious" Eliza said as she began to ponder about
"sophistry.... How could your meager power be able to detect the security around the castle" Eleanor said still refusing to face the situation
"My lady its not impossible, think about it today is your birthday and if something happens to you it will become a stain on the reputation of the Marquess, some one can use it against your family" Eliza said this as she also thought about the situation
"I know this can just be coincidental but what if its not .... So I have an Idea" I said proposing a solution
"What is it" Eleanor said as she seemed also interested
"We can ... " I told them my plan
"but its dangerous Vergil it would be directly putting ourselves in harms way" Eliza said after listening to my plan
"I know but if I am wrong it would be nothing and If something does go wrong ultimately there are guards around the premises and we can delay enough time for them to arrive" I said
"lady Eleanor you must have something that can notify the guard right I will also create a distraction that will alert the guards" I asked lady Eleanor hopping she would have the emergency contact tool
Eleanor looked at me and said ....
Third POV
Currently, the gathering was still going on in full swing. Its only been an hour since Vergil and other have sneaked out. In the garden currently the three them were laying on the ground with there snacks half eaten, It felt like they were taking a nap, the scene seemed peaceful, but there was a sinister hand lurking in the shadows, moving toward them with nefarious intentions.
As the lay on the ground unaware of their surrounding the maid that had delivered the snack comes again, as if she had expected such results
She then takes out a hexagonal magic tool and begins to pour prana into it , than a voice comes from the other side
"Is the Job done?" A cold male voice could be heard from other side
"Done. It was almost to easy the voluntary went to the garden we did not even have to prepare any excuse" She said showing off her accomplishment
"Be vigilant, now is the hard part get her to the exit point" The cold voice said
"okay but what about the other two brats" It would seem her target is The marquess daughter
"Dispose of them and don't leave any evidence" The cold voice said
"okay as you say Boss" she complied as she felt a little pity for those unrelated children
"sorry young man blame your luck for being with our target" she muttered as she took out few pins and prepare to through at them something strange happened
Almost instantly a white barrier was erected in front of them that deflected the needle
"Now do it " Vergil said as he sat up and was now awake
"Cast spell: Earth Binding" Eliza said
A magic circle appeared under the maid as the earth extended and surrounded her and formed chains around her
Taking advantage of the situation Vergil also cast the spell
"Cast spell: shadow bind" Vergil casted
Another black circle appeared and form around her trapping her in black chains
Eliza took out a spear from her ring and quickly released her aura and pointed the spear at her face
"Who are you" Eliza demanded as she was furious
She still could not believe that everything that Vergil said has come through, she felt humiliated as she felt her pride has been trampled on
"Hehe.... a bunch of rebellious brats, do you think you have trapped me" The maid as with a sinister laughter
"No need to struggle the guards have been notified you will soon be captured" Vergil said as a magic circle appeared around his hands, Eliza also ready to attack if she moved
"Why do you think, a bunch of junior mages and swordsman, can stop me.... how naïve of you" she said as she was still unfazed by the situation
"Answer the question" Eleanor said angrily
The maid just smiled as she suddenly released her aura
'boom'
her aura release was powerful enough that she broke free from the restraints as they were nothing
"A high level swordswomen and probably 5 star level" Vergil solemnly said
The situation turned for the worst as now three junior level faced against a high level aura users
"hehe...brats I admit you tricked but so what you are still going to die here and I am going to take the girl away" The maid declared ominously, her smile chillingly sinister.
