It was quiet the only sound I could hear was the sound of beeping from the machine next to me. Why was I in this hospital again? Oh yeah, because I have an incurable disease and because of it I can't move now… My name is Ella Evergreen and my only goal is to survive in this cruel world. My life was a never-ending cycle of work, eating, and sleeping. I never really cared for my wants only my needs. Love didn't matter to me I never understood why people even care about love. It was useless and never served a purpose for me. It was ironic coming from me since no one ever seemed to love or care about me. During my childhood it was hell. My mother would make me her servant and, my father never cared about me or what my mother did, as long as he never was affected by it he'd let her do what she wanted. So right when I turned eighteen I left that horrible house and never talked to my parents again. It's not like life got any better I could hardly even make ends meet. Life was hard and I didn't have any time for my wants not like I had any. My only focus was on my needs the most valuable thing to me was food and water. Today was probably my last day though so I didn't have to worry about anything I guess. The doctors don't think I can hear them and talk about many things in front of me. My main doctor was talking to a nurse about how I may not have much time. I was oddly happy for some reason maybe because I knew deep inside that I could finally rest… That I didn't have to worry anymore about surviving… It was nighttime and the moon was shining down on me. I never noticed till now but the moon is beautiful. I always found the moon interesting it could control the tides and water. It shines so brightly even in the dead of night being the shining star in the night sky. I wish I could be like that… I wonder how would my life be if I had someone who loved me. It would be nice, wouldn't it? That was my last thought before I closed my eyes still facing the beautiful moon. "Wake up child…" The mysterious voice said, "Wake up Ella…" I heard the voice say this. I opened my eyes and saw a beautiful sky and was lying on something soft. "Good morning my dear my name is Vitu." I heard what I thought to be a man say this to me. I sit up and look around looking for where this mysterious man is. "Who's there?" My voice was kind of raspy it was expected since I couldn't speak for a few weeks because of my illness. "I am Vitu and I shall give you a second chance at life." The man said my eyes widened in surprise when I heard this. "Why me?" I asked quietly not sure if he heard me or not. "It does not matter why I chose you it matters what you do with this new life." He said to me as I lay down. I couldn't control my body I started to close my eyes again. I still had so many questions I wanted to ask him but I couldn't control myself. "Live your life I shall guide you and assist you in this new life. My assistance shall be there in many ways expected or not. Please be strong…Ella." He said before my eyes closed and was absorbed by the darkness. I didn't know how long I was absorbed by the darkness but I couldn't hear anything. Since I couldn't hear anything and it was all darkness I was now alone with my thoughts. "I wonder, if I am going to live a new life how is it going to be?" That was my first thought. "I hope not to be born Ella Evergreen again… I want to be born with a new name something more cute…" Then I heard it. "How about Latifa?" I heard that mysterious voice before I finally opened my eyes and heard those voices. They were saying things like "She isn't breathing!" "Get help!" I was confused about what was happening. Were they talking about me? Where am I? What was happening right now? I looked at my surroundings it looked like I was in a castle. I saw a lot of women in the room and they were wearing maid outfits. "Why isn't she crying?" one of the maids said. I realized I was a baby and this was the new life that the Vitu guy was discussing. I could see all the maids stare at me in confusion but suddenly a man walked into the room wearing what a duke would wear in those books I saw in the store. It was black and dark blue and looked expensive. He walked over to the person who was carrying me and took me roughly. "Of course, he isn't crying he's my child!" He said sternly. The maids looked at him confused some were about to laugh. The maid he took me from then spoke up "My lord your child is a girl." He looked surprised for a second then embarrassed he blushed a bit and cleared his throat. "Of course, I knew that! I was just testing you!" He said sounding angry and cold. The maids froze up and the same maid from before started apologizing. One of the maids then started to speak up. "I'm sorry to inform you my lord but Lady Alise died after giving birth." She said quietly hoping not to upset him. He looked at her for a moment then cleared his throat. "Have you taken care of the body?" He asked in a cold tone. We all looked at him shocked. Did he just say that? Isn't that his wife? It was quiet for a while. I was starting to get uncomfortable because of how he held me. Before I knew it I started crying not being able to communicate any other way. The room went silent. A maid suddenly spoke up "She's crying! She finally is crying!" The man started trying to comfort me surprisingly. He started bouncing up and down. "Um, my lord..? May we take care of her? I think we know what's the problem." My cries got louder as he did this and gave me to the maid. He then left the room after that. "How could such a cruel man be my father?" I thought to myself as I stopped crying. After this, I only saw two rooms, the room I was in during my birth and my bedroom. I stayed there all the time and maids were going in and out to take care of me. I always saw the same few maids and most of them were scared to take care of me. All but one, Sonae, was a kind woman with red long hair and Sapphire blue eyes. It seemed she was also a maid for my father because when she was around she would tell me about him sometimes. A few weeks passed and things stayed the same but my father never came to visit. Is this really what my new life is going to be like?
