Chapter 61 - "Spar?"

{Jujutsu High, Practice field}

Gojo stood between us. Acting as the ref for the spar. When I had healed her I did a damn good job. She was moving on the tips of her feet as she centered herself. Her hair was shortened since I had seen her in the infirmary. Planning our prank, myself and Gojo didn't notice it seemed as she shortened her hair.

It did look good on her though. For myself I kept a relaxed posture. The married blades lowered to my sides.

"Go!" Gojo sounded cheerful in his tone. Maki though rocketed towards me instantly. The ground ruptured where she stood. She was strong for a human, but that was common sense for these people.

She swung the trisected staff when in range at me. I simply leaned back wanting to see how she responded. She lunged into it. Adjusting the weapon mid swing with a whip like crack moving through the weapon.

I kept on defense to see how she would react. Redirecting the attacks as they came while on a backfoot. While the younger crowd cheered her on thinking she was succeeding in pressuring me, the older ones knew.

She knew. The frustration evident on her face as she pressed on. Since this a spar... "To aggressive." I stated as my footing changed. Instantly I was inside her guard. She faltered for a moment at the sudden change. A kick sent her back where she started as the crowd went quiet.

"Aggression is fine, when you have control of the situation. When you have overwhelming advantage in strength against an opponent. But what happens when someone can match you?"

I adjusted my physic to match her. Same strength, same speed. Then I began to walk. A shift in my weight and I moved. Next to her in an instant with no sign I had lunged like she did.

I swung a leg attempting to trip her, She reacted by jumping. I discouraged that. A swing of Kanshou incoming that she blocked but was sent back again.

"Not a spar anymore, this is a lesson. You seem to haven't had the chance to fight only physically orientated fighters often. So time to learn, what do you do when someone can match that raw power of yours?"

The crowd quiet as Maki stood slowly. She took a deep breath and focused. She came after me again. This time I blocked her attacks as they came. No redirecting as before. Matched blow for blow as her frustrations became apparent.

My eyes flashed purple as I looked into more how she fought. Every time she attacked she subconsciously tried to use the minimal cursed energy she had in her body. Trying to move it according to her will.

A fruitless endeavor, it wasn't hers to command. Twins right? Her twin commanded the cursed energy while she was left with the physical prowess.

After blocking another overhead swing, I tossed Bakuya to the right and moved left. She kept her eyes on me though. our positions rotated slightly in favor of the ability of the married blades. They always liked to be together.

When Bakuya was on a return journey she noticed something and disengaged. I spoke as I pressed my attack. adjusting after she dodged Bakuya she was on the backfoot.

"Why do you cling to it so much?" She became distracted by my words and took a blunted strike to her arm. I pressed more.

"Every action, every movement you cling to it. Holding it so tightly as if the ember will respond." I tripped her and sent her rolling back. She recovered by rolling out of it and guarding. "Good instincts" she heard above her as she swung the heavy weighted weapon.

She was panting as she held the block above her. only to realize to late there was only the white sword in my hands. Kanshou hit the small of her back which knocked the wind out of her.

She coughed out and said, "Because I want to be strong."

"Then let it go, It isn't yours anyways."

Her eyes widened and looked up to me. "What? What do you mean it isn't mine!"

Squatting to eye level with her, I pointed to my eye, "I can see quite a bit thanks to my abilities. I can see souls, I can see Magicka, And I can see Cursed Energy. What I see is a girl trying to move a candle flame that doesn't listen to her soul. That little bit of cursed energy you have, Isn't yours to move... and it holds you back."

She didn't notice my illusion veil I put up around us. The only ones allowed to see her like this were few in number. Gojo and the other teachers could see through it. But the students I kept them from it.

She slammed a fist into the ground, a spiderweb like crack originating from it.

"Why?" she sobbed, "Why me?" She kept her head looking to the ground.

"Does it matter?" I asked. She looked up confused so I elaborated.

"Does it matter if you weren't born with the ability to use cursed energy? So what. Two sides of the coin, and you saw just what happens when someone doesn't have it. A monster who could tear through curses and sorcerers like nothing."

She sniffed and said, "But I couldn't be a sorcerer, I was ridiculed, beaten, and shunned. What would it even be worth it if I couldn't prove them wrong!"

Giving a reassuring smile I said, "Who cares? Because it seems like a waste of time to think about it. Now get up, we still are fighting."

As I stood I hooked my foot and tossed her. She yelped and was not prepared for me to hit her again. Her weapon was left behind as she was kicked away.

I dismissed the married blades. Hand to hand was next. Gripping the playful cloud from the ground I tossed it to Gojo. Who easily caught it and tossed it to Megumi.

Rolling my shoulder and popping my neck I walked towards her.

"So who cares?" I said as I launched to her. Martial arts verses martial arts began. I kept a simple variations of strikes and blocks as I fought. Some kicks were thrown in for fun as she struggled to counter attack.

She succeeded in a desperate grapple, which I reversed and threw her face first to the ground. She flipped with a sweep kick to create distance which I allowed.

Slowly it was happening. More and more as she fought she didn't touch the candle.

Blocking three strikes she jabbed at me I began to use her style against her. Enough time had passed to get a basic handle on it.

She gritted her teeth as she looked on. I was fighting how she would, only better.

"Look and Learn." My voice stern as she was losing herself to aggression again.

Methodical and sure of myself. That was how I fought, even using her martial arts against her. Deliberate movements to entrap an opponent. Then I added to it. Small, almost insignificant footwork to adjust my position.

Finally I came to a rest with an outstretched fist that echoed with a crack in the wind. Her hair was thrown back as the momentum of the wind behind my fist calmed.

"That's enough for now. Think on on my words... Who cares."

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She stepped back and interlocked her hands in a universal gesture and bowed. "Thank you for your guidance."

"As long as one learns" I said returning the gesture. looking to the stunned crowd I said, "Anyone hungry? because I am starving."

Some awoke from the trance of the fight and rushed to meet up with Maki. I gave a small stamina potion to her so she could recover as I separated from her. The teachers were all grouped up so I meandered my way over to them.

Utahime was quick to snap to me and said, "You shouldn't have been so harsh."

Raising an eyebrow I said, "And what, spare her feelings?" looking to the Principal of Kyoto jujutsu high, A very old and wrinkled man who looked as if he had a foot in the grave.

"Why did she become a sorcerer." Looking at the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High. a muscular man twice my size easily. Goatee was immaculate as well.

"Spite" he said. I nodded. The response fitted from my memories.

"Which means she is too caught up in what everyone thinks and doesn't do this for herself. She just wants to prove something to people who don't care, Soooo, why should she?"

Utahime was stunned from my words while Gojo grinned.

"And why do you care, young man?" The Kyoto principal said as his hands rested on his cane.

looking to the skies I remembered Shirou's memories. All the times when he saved people but it was mostly empty thanks to him just trying to do it for someone else. "Sometimes people need to be told something straight, Sometimes they need their ass kicked. My brother was like that. Always saving people for someone else's Ideals. Instead of his own."

Looking back at the old man, "I'd want someone to tell it to me, if or when I get like that."

"Hmm, and why do you want to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer?" Tokyo's Principal asked

I laughed a bit at his words, then I said, "I don't. But that doesn't mean I can't help out."

He chuckled himself at my words. "Welcome to jujutsu High. I can arrange student quarters for you soon."

"Student?" eyebrow raised at him.

"Of course!" Gojo Chimed in.

"Nah Uh" Shooting Gojo down.

"What even would you be then if not a student." Utahime said with a huff.

A smirk donned on my face as I said, "P.E. Teacher"

The old man was stroking his beard and said, "It's not impossible."

"You are not seriously considering this, are you Principal Yaga, Principal Yoshinobu?" Utahime turned, stunned by his words.

"Hoh? So he would be my little Kohai? hmm... hm. I Agree!" Gojo was on board, nodding along, probably for the wrong reasons.

Shoko chimed in from the side with a lit cigarette, "He has already proven his strength and as far as medical Knowledge and with his magic stuff, he is overqualified. Not dealing with any extra major injuries is a good thing in my book." Taking a drag as she finished.

"but, but!" Gojo just placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "Face it... This is happening. At least we have a new Kohai!" giving her a big smile as she was close to breaking down.

Then she gained a glint in her eyes as she heard that. A very scary glint accompanied by mutterings I was happy to evade by changing the subject, "So... Are the two schools going to stay together to train because the whole releasing disasters and culling games thing makes me feel the students are woefully unprepared for it."

The two principals looked to each other with questioning gazes. A nod was shared between them and Yaga said, "It would be advantageous to allow them to train together. Not even mentioning the recent happenings around japan with the Shibuya incident."

"I agree on behalf of the Kyoto branch, The kids could learn a lot here."

A new voice spoke up from the side, "I'll take on Yuji's training. He is of my blood so he can potentially utilize the Choso clan cursed technique. Kenjaku was messed up but he is my brother."

looking to the man with a scar across his the bridge of his nose I noticed the seriousness of his words. Looking to Gojo as it was more his call in this case, "I would appreciate that. On the note of Yuji... What is that seal?"

With a bit of intrigue, "Ho? So your eyes could see it?"

"they do look spectacular don't they, My Kohai?" ignoring my question. Fine fine.

"The seal itself is based on two principals. The first is containment, Yuji's body being created from Sukuna helps in that, by the way. The spell was my demigod level ability. Using mastery over space and mystery I "contained" Sukuna.

Next comes extraction. To keep him in the little prison I made, he can't be allowed to gather power. So, with a bit of finagling, the excess energy gets filtered and funneled into Yuji."

"So little Yuji will gain more power?" Gojo asked. Ignoring the astonished gazes of the others.

"Overtime he will extract most of Sukuna's energy. Thus he can redevelop Sukuna's cursed techniques. Though I would more put him on the path of souls though."

Giving a little thought to what I had seen of Yuji. His powers were very related to the late Kenjaku. If I can recall, Kenjaku was in his mother.

"Then we should schedule classes for them all. Let us all have turns with the students. Only make it entire days dedicated to the teacher of the day." I suggested.

Principal Yaga stroking his goatee, "And what subject would the others be teaching?"

Pointing to Gojo, "Teamwork!"

He dared to preen himself and bask in the joke like it was real. "Yes!"

Utahime burst from her trance finally as he said that, "No!"

"Then Utahime-san will take that." I said as a matter of fact. The two principals nodded along.

"I'll take over for Cursed energy studies and manipulation then, help them with their Cursed Techniques." Gojo said not giving the woman a chance to deny.

"I'll have a portion of the day for Yuji alone, besides that I'll teach some history half the day." Choso said.

Akari Nitta, a small blond woman wearing a button up suit said, "I'll just act as council for the students. I feel they will be needing it with those two." Pointing at myself and Gojo.

On Cue, We looked at each other confused, knowing full well what she meant.

Then after some back and forth we moved inside the school. We moved to the cafeteria with the students in tow. They separated into clicks instantly. Not so much a cool kids and nerds kinda separations though. Mostly into their schools. Yuji was bouncing around the tables though, friendly with most of them as it turned out.

The staff was surprised to see me directly head to the kitchen though upon our arrival. I just gave a "it's what an Emiya does."

Deciding to play around a bit, I extracted a number of ingredients from my ring as well.

Cooked up several of my favorite dish from Skyrim, as well as a few Japanese style cuisine too. Took around 40 mins just zoned in on cooking to notice a lack of noise besides the sizzling of the pans and timers of the ovens.

Tasting as I went let me fill up slightly from my extended sleep. In the end three main courses were prepared. They were; roasted chickens on the bone (Broken down to cook faster), a quick oxtail stew (made with marinated ingredients I kept in my Ring, because why not) and a couple grilled slaughter fish steaks.

For side dishes there was a clear fish soup, Rice (of course), a variety of vegetables (cut into cute animals for aesthetics) and rolled eggs.

When I finally breathed a sigh of relief, I was greeted to the sight through the open window into the kitchen of a pack of hungry wolves. At least that's what they looked like.

"Alright, alright, calm your drool and set the plates." I announced. A few looked sheepish at my words but most rushed off. Calling out behind them I said, "And make it one table!"

Brats don't wanna socialize? Ha! won't matter when you are stuffing your face.

"Choso and Utahime-san, Need your help bringing this all out." Mostly relied on them as they had the most self control to not eat everything in sight.

Gojo looked slightly offended for a moment until I pulled the deserts from the oven.

As big as a child's head the sweet rolls wafted their sweetness around. I was tempted to add a bit of Moon sugar as a certain Khajiit from the caravans had taught me in Skyrim. But the effects even if mild were not appropriate for the kids.

Gojo was hovering over me as I brought three trays to the table. Once everyone was seated they all said, "Itadakemasu!"

Then they became the ravenous wolves I saw before. Gojo was fortunate to be able to steal a whole Sweet roll before the others fought over them. He was giggling as he was eating it.

Good food makes for good vibes.

The little blond twin tailed girl that had a witches broom next to her was having a staring match with Maki over a piece of oxtail. only to have Mai, Maki's sister move their hands apart and split the piece of meat.

Deciding to be nice to the bullied Sempai, I pulled a tea set out and sat across from Utahime. Prepping my tea as usual I poured a cup for her. She finally noticed me past her plate as the Tea was poured.

The Leaves used happened to be a particular brand I had the Nightingales "Procure" from the summerset Isles. A certain Thalmor aligned Noble family was to get a very large shipment that "happened" to have gone missing soon as it arrived.

She regained some bearings until she tasted the tea and practically melted in her seat. The effects of the tea were to promote meditations for Magicka. Relaxing the mind and body, the drinker could then feel Magicka better. It was useful for those who couldn't see Magicka itself, an overwhelming majority as it turns out.

Finally they were all coming back from their feeding frenzy. With more chipper moods from the foods the new changes were announced. Starting the next day would be my first day as the P.E. Teacher, and would be my first class.

It was also unanimous I would handle the cooking. Before they would just rotate a person around except a few who were dreadful cooks,

Cough, cough, Gojo, Cough.

Now they would just assist me in the kitchen. Fun times all around.

There was one final thing that needed to be taken care of.

"So, I'm going to need to go shopping." I announced. A few gave me curious stares. So I elaborated, "You can't expect me to just wear (gesturing to myself) "Old Fashion" Clothes and not have a cell phone right?"

A collective ""OH!"" came from them just made me facepalm.
