The next day, the world, which had just calmed down, was once again set ablaze by explosive news delivered by the sea gulls.
All the powerful individuals on the sea, as well as ordinary civilians, deeply felt the impending upheaval in the era's structure.
This time, Morgans didn't resort to the sensationalist headlines usually used to attract readers.
Because the content itself was already super shocking!
"The Winds of Change: A New Era Dawns with the Emergence of a New Shichibukai and a New Emperor of the Sea!"
Beneath the eye-catching, bold red title were two dominating illustrations: Zyhark wielding his twin thunder blades and the imposing presence of Red-Haired Shanks!
The accompanying text detailed these two world-shaking events.
It covered the battle between Zyhark's crew and the Shichibukai Crocodile in the deserts of Alabasta.
And the Red-Haired Pirates' challenge against one of the current Four Emperors, culminating in their victory and Shanks' rise to power!
These two events occurred almost simultaneously, one in the first half of the Grand Line, Alabasta, and the other in the New World. Their massive impact was felt across the entire Grand Line.
Morgans' intelligence network was evidently unparalleled.
Not only could he get the details of both battlefields promptly, but he also had on-site photos!
The entire world trembled, and various factions began to stir.
...
The New World.
On the calm seas sailed the Moby Dick, the flagship of the Whitebeard Pirates, a three-masted ship with a whale figurehead.
Seated on the spacious deck, a man with golden hair and sharp eyes drank large gulps of sake, his gaze fixed on the newspaper in front of him.
"Gurararara! A new Four Emperors and a new Shichibukai, huh? This sea, which has been quiet since Roger's death, is finally getting lively again!"
Edward Newgate, the world's strongest man, known as Whitebeard, let out a hearty, domineering laugh. "It seems the new era is coming faster than Roger predicted…"
Unlike his severely ill state ten years later, Whitebeard at this point was still full of vigor. Though not at his peak, he had not yet fully declined.
"Shanks, huh? I didn't expect him to reach the same level as you, Pops…"
On the side deck, Marco the Phoenix quietly remarked, recalling the times when he and Whitebeard fought against Roger's Pirates, where Shanks was just a little kid a few years younger than him.
"To stand at the pinnacle of the world, that red-haired brat still has a long way to go. But more importantly…"
Whitebeard shifted his gaze from Shanks' picture to the other side of the page. "I'm more interested in seeing this thunder boy who dares to kill Celestial Dragons."
"Pops, do you want to visit Alabasta?" asked Thatch, the Fourth Division Commander, with curiosity.
"No, sooner or later, we'll meet in the New World." Whitebeard lifted his sake jug and drank deeply.
Crunch, crunch.
At that moment, the sound of chewing came from an inconspicuous corner of the deck, drawing Whitebeard's attention.
A man with black hair and a missing tooth was munching on food there.
"Teach, have you thought about my proposal?" Whitebeard asked casually.
All the core members of the Whitebeard Pirates turned their heads to look at Teach, who was holding a cherry pie.
"Spare me, Pops. I'm nowhere near qualified to be the Second Division Commander," Teach said with a humble and distressed look, scratching his head.
"Hahahaha!"
The other commanders laughed heartily at his goofy demeanor. Clearly, Teach's reluctance to be the Second Division Commander was nothing new.
"Do as you please, but don't underestimate yourself as a man," Whitebeard advised as a father figure.
"Got it, Pops!" Teach replied with a beaming, innocent smile, cherry pie crumbs still on his lips.
Beneath that sunny smile, neither Whitebeard nor anyone else could see the sinister thoughts brewing in Teach's mind.
'How lucky I am to get information about that fruit just as Shanks defeated a Four Emperor!'
...
Totland, Whole Cake Island.
"What the hell are those World Government bastards thinking, letting two wet-behind-the-ears brats take such high positions?!"
Big Mom, wearing her pirate hat, continued to stuff desserts into her mouth. Her previously slender and beautiful figure was now starting to show signs of obesity.
Devoted to creating a nation of all races, Big Mom had been focusing solely on having children for the past few years.
Her solid foundation, known as the Iron Balloon, kept her strong. Even without much training, she retained her position as one of the Four Emperors, holding a place in the dangerous New World.
"Mama, it's said that Zyhark's crew now has the strength to rival an Admiral. They could pose a significant threat to our territorial expansion in the future."
Katakuri, aged 36, had a towel around his face. His steady and calm nature allowed him to see the extraordinary nature of Zyhark's crew from previous events.
"Mamama! What's there to worry about? They're just lucky to have gained such power. If they dare to provoke us in the New World, I'll show them the true terror of the pirate world!"
Big Mom scoffed, recalling the handsome face in the newspaper, and muttered, "I wonder if that kid is of a rare race?"
To rise from obscurity to such power in a few months seemed impossible for an ordinary human.
At this point, her intelligence was still somewhat intact, recognizing that Zyhark likely had significant secrets!
...
Wano Country, Onigashima.
"Worororo! A girl with the terrifying strength to repel Admiral Sakazuki? Zyhark is quite lucky to find such a partner."
Kaido sat on his throne, holding the recently delivered newspaper.
Below him, all the core members, including King, Queen, Jack, and the Tobiroppo, were present.
Surprisingly, sixteen-year-old Yamato was among them.
Fascinated by the adventures described in Oden's journal, Yamato longed to learn more about the vast sea beyond, dreaming of exploring it one day.
"The time to meet again is approaching, Zyhark. I'm looking forward to the surprises you'll bring," Kaido grinned savagely, crushing the newspaper in his large hand.
"Sea Restaurant—no, now I should call you Shichibukai—Zyhark!"
In Zyhark's rapid rise, Kaido saw the potential for a no-holds-barred battle, eager for a fight that would leave him truly satisfied.
Why not challenge Whitebeard, who was still near his peak?
Kaido was a battle maniac, but not a fool...
In truth, he had clashed with Whitebeard several times, but the outcomes were less than favorable.
Amid the crowd, Yamato looked at Kaido in awe.
For the first time in her life, she saw such excitement and anticipation on her usually cold and ruthless father's face.
Naturally, this stirred an intense curiosity in her about the "kid" Kaido kept mentioning.
Who exactly was the infamous Zyhark?
...
A certain unknown island, the hidden headquarters of the Revolutionary Army.
"Accepting the Shichibukai invitation? That boy is truly unpredictable," Ivankov remarked, his large face full of surprise.
While the emergence of Shanks as a new Emperor was significant, the Revolutionary Army was more intrigued by Zyhark, who seemed to be on a similar mission to their own.
"I told you! That bastard is a shameless crook, scamming money from kids without remorse!" Sabo, with bandages on his head, grumbled, recalling how Zyhark had conned him.
After regaining his memory, Sabo chose to stay with the Revolutionary Army, determined to follow Dragon's footsteps and liberate the world.
"This news alone isn't enough to change our prior assessment," Monkey D. Dragon stated calmly, showing little emotion.
"Let time reveal the truth. I believe that man won't let us down!"
Hearing this, Ivankov, who had witnessed Zyhark's crew killing the Celestial Dragon at Sabaody Archipelago, fell silent briefly.
Agreeing with Dragon's view, Ivankov didn't dwell further on the topic.
"By the way, should we inform Kuma about the recent intelligence on Ginny?"
Dragon's expression turned serious. "Not yet. We can't let Kuma act rashly."
The complexity of the situation weighed heavily on him.
"Understood," Ivankov sighed deeply.
Considering the gravity of the situation, Ivankov refrained from suggesting a rescue mission to Mariejois for Ginny.
Unlike the situation with Fisher Tiger, the Celestial Dragons' imprisonment of Ginny seemed like a trap to lure the Revolutionary Army into action.
Acting impulsively at this nascent stage of the Revolutionary Army could squander all their efforts.
Though it was harsh for Ginny and Kuma, Ivankov understood the importance of the bigger picture and knew that Dragon was also struggling with the same internal conflict.
...
Meanwhile, back in Alabasta, Zyhark's crew was remarkably calm despite the world's uproar over the news of their Shichibukai status.
—Except for Brook, whose bounty was stuck at an embarrassing 888 berries.
Even Aqua, who typically despised any association with the corrupt World Government, was placated by Zyhark's promise of two crates of fine wine.
In Zyhark's grand plan, they wouldn't stay as Shichibukai for long. Once they amassed enough power and his crew could stand independently against the World Government's interference, it would be time to flip the table and wage war.
Perhaps, just one world-shaking event would trigger that moment.
"Mr. Zyhark, I never expected you all to become the last Shichibukai," Cobra sighed, looking out at the improving Alabasta from the grand hall.
In their previous agreement, Cobra worried that promoting the wanted Aqua would bring lethal danger to the kingdom.
Now, with Zyhark's crew being legally recognized, those fears had dissipated. The Shichibukai title could also deter pirates eyeing Alabasta, reducing coastal attacks.
Compared to Crocodile's deceitful schemes, Cobra trusted Zyhark and Aqua, who genuinely improved the citizens' lives. —As for Crocodile, after his breakdown, he was taken away by Admiral Sengoku for interrogation.
Whether he ended up in Impel Down or was released, only time would tell.
Zyhark speculated the latter, given Crocodile's short tenure in Alabasta. Despite his schemes, he had mostly protected the people from pirate invasions.
Even if Crocodile returned to the seas, Zyhark wasn't concerned. His crew's power would only continue to grow, and they could easily handle Crocodile if they crossed paths again.
"Don't get too complacent, King Cobra," Zyhark warned, seeing the king's relief.
Sitting casually, Zyhark continued, "Our deal stands. You can use the Shichibukai name, but I won't publicly protect Alabasta."
Given his future plans to oppose the World Government, any island or nation openly allied with him would face severe repercussions.
Even Alabasta, a significant World Government ally.
"I understand. Protecting the kingdom is my duty," Cobra replied firmly.
"In my homeland, there's a saying: 'Prosperity breeds complacency; adversity builds strength,'" Zyhark noted. "Though Alabasta's drought issue is resolved, your real challenges are just beginning."
Cobra pondered deeply and then bowed slightly. "Thank you for your advice. I'll remember it well."
At that moment, two small figures, Vivi and Koza, rushed in, one after the other, stopping in front of Zyhark.
"Zyhark, is it true that you're leaving Alabasta tomorrow morning?" Vivi asked urgently.
Over the past few days, she had grown very close to Zyhark's crew, addressing them as friends.
"Yes, we've done what we needed to. There's no reason to stay longer," Zyhark replied, ruffling Vivi's soft hair with a smile.
With their Shichibukai status, they had more time and didn't need to rush to Fishman Island. He planned to take Brook to reunite with Laboon and gather special materials from Drum Island for Meowth's next creation.
"Umm…"
Vivi, usually not fond of head pats, didn't resist this time. She looked up at Zyhark with clear eyes. "Can Koza and I come with you?"
Before Zyhark could answer, Cobra and Igaram were shocked. "Vivi, what are you saying?!"
"Father, Igaram, we want to see the vast ocean Aqua described!" Vivi's young face was full of hopeful anticipation.
Koza, beside her, nodded firmly.
"No, Vivi, the outside world is very dangerous. You're still children," Igaram said hurriedly.
"We're not kids! We're the leaders of the Suna Suna Gang!" Vivi retorted.
Cobra, knowing Vivi's stubborn nature, looked to Zyhark. "I'm sorry, Mr. Zyhark. Vivi has always been straightforward. I hope you don't mind."
"It's fine," Zyhark waved it off and addressed Vivi and Koza. "Tell me your reasons for wanting to go to sea."
Vivi raised her hand first. "I want to become a great goddess like Aqua and bring happiness to our people!"
Koza, a bit hesitant, then spoke with determination. "I want to become stronger to protect everyone in our village from pirates!"
"I see. Both of you want to protect your country. That's a noble dream," Zyhark acknowledged, nodding in approval.
Vivi and Koza's faces lit up with joy, thinking Zyhark would agree.
But then Zyhark's next words were a cold splash of reality.
"However, I'm sorry. I can't take you with us."
Zyhark removed his hand from Vivi's head and walked to the large window.
"You're still too weak. To join my crew, you need to make a name for yourselves first."
"If you can't achieve anything significant in your own country, you're not qualified to sail with us."
Facing Zyhark's towering figure, the eager Vivi and Koza slowly lowered their heads, understanding his meaning.
"I get it, Zyhark. I'll become a worthy princess of the kingdom!" Vivi declared.
"I will too! I'll become a renowned hero!" Koza echoed.
Satisfied with their resolve, Zyhark turned back with a bright smile. "Then it's a promise. When that time comes, I'll come for you."
"Deal!" they both shouted.
Despite the reluctance, the Alabasta journey was coming to an end.
The next morning, countless residents crowded the port.
Even under the scorching sun and choking sand, the once emaciated people eagerly awaited to bid farewell to their saviors.
At the forefront stood Cobra, Vivi, and the royal family.
Further ahead, Kung Fu Dugongs tearfully waved at the Endless Dream, where their big sister Kanna stood.
Aboard the ship, Zyhark's crew watched the vast crowd with awe.
"Vivi, Koza, work hard to become amazing people! And everyone in Alabasta, see you next time!"
As the deity worshipped by many, Aqua performed her specialty with a flourish of her goddess fan, creating a colorful water spectacle.
"Goodbye, Lady Aqua, Lord Zyhark, and all the strong and reliable adults!!"
The shores erupted with heartfelt gratitude, the freed citizens expressing their deepest thanks.
Under the lead of a particularly wise individual, the crowd began to recite the Axis Cult's doctrines.
Sensing this, Zyhark silently apologized to Cobra.
He couldn't guarantee what kind of abstract future awaited Alabasta with the Aqua Cult's growing influence.
Unlike his cheerful companions waving goodbye, Zyhark returned Cobra's gaze, eyes flashing with surprise.
Using a combination of Observation Haki and his electric senses, he quickly identified an inconspicuous figure in the crowd—a blind man with a purple coat and a wooden staff.
Due to their earlier distance and the man's lack of malice, Zyhark hadn't noticed him until now.
This was Issho, the future Admiral Fujitora!
In the crowd, Fujitora's eyebrow twitched, his powerful Observation Haki picking up on the scrutiny from the ship.
"Not only a simple but pure goddess, Zyhark, your presence made my spontaneous trip to Alabasta quite worthwhile."
Fujitora placed his cane sword at his waist and bowed slightly toward the departing Endless Dream. "Thank you very much."
The sight of so many joyous people made him wish to see more of this world's truth.
If only he could open his eyes...
As he lamented this, Fujitora's usually closed eyes suddenly widened in shock, revealing the whites.
Using his powerful Observation Haki, he caught Zyhark's cheerful voice from afar.
"Hey, strong blind man, want to join my crew?"
After a moment of shock, Fujitora smiled and shook his head.
"Thank you for the invitation, but I wish to travel more, seeking the truths of this dark world."
He declined Zyhark's offer.
"That's a shame," Zyhark sighed softly, not too surprised by the response.
"Hey, Zyhark, what's so shameful?" Aqua's keen ears picked up his muttering as she approached, her blue eyes narrowing with a smug expression.
"Are you upset that this goddess stole the spotlight?"
"Hahaha! Don't feel too bad, being a mere cunning human, it's not shameful to lose to a goddess~"
Zyhark turned, looking at Aqua with an expression suggesting he was gazing at an idiot.
"Sorry, I don't compare myself to a coward trembling before a desert crocodile."
"Damn you, Zyhark! When did I tremble?!" Aqua retorted, instantly defensive.
"So you admit you were scared."
Zyhark taunted with a sly grin, "Great and holy Aqua, your courage to admit defeat is truly commendable."
"Ahhh! Zyhark, you bastard! I'll strangle you!!!"
Aqua, in a fit of rage, started babbling incoherently.
