The battlefield was in absolute chaos. The whole place was flooded by skeleton warriors welding swords all marching towards various enemies. Two giants were locked in combat, Adam was slowly making his way towards the old man and Nathaniel was trying his best to escape the current situation.
God's guard had grown to the size of the zombie giant and had engaged it in combat. He threw a left hook followed by a right jab and finished off with a kick to the gut of the giant as it took a few steps back. He rushed in but the zombie grabbed onto his shoulder and tried to bite him. He narrowly avoided the bite by turning his head to the side, then he brought both his hands between the arms of the zombie and forced the zombie's arms of his shoulders. He then punched the zombie three more times before dropkicking it. He rushed in once more intending to stomp the zombie's head but when he lifted his leg the zombie hit the other and he fell.
Back on the ground, Noir had rushed over to the body of Alsvid and was fighting of any skeleton that got close to him. There was a problem however. Noir could only deal with so many skeletons but more and more were coming its way intending to kill it and Alsvid.
'Why are the skeletons making their way to Alsvid's body. It would make no sense, he's dead, unless.' Nathaniel thought.
"I got to get over there." Nathaniel said to himself.
Having established the possibility that Alsvid could be alive, Nathaniel abandoned his plan to escape as he tore through the skeletons with what little essence he had left hoping to save Alsvid and Noir.
Adam was slowly making his way towards the old man. Due to the vast number of skeletons he had to push through with his essence as he looped his essence around himself to form a lesser version of his golden shield.
The zombie giant got back onto its feet as it moved in to bite God's guard's neck. The golden being grabbed the zombie's shoulder as he tried his best to not let it bite him. This struggle went on for a while until God's guard managed to pull up his knee in between his body and the zombie giant. He then flipped the zombie giant over his body, they both recovered quickly as they rushed towards each other and interlocked fingers in a battle of strength where they were evenly matched.
He pushed through enough to make it to Noir's side. He and Noir then started circling protectively around Alsvid's body, Noir destroying any skeleton that got close with her beams and Nathaniel destroying small groups of skeletons with the skill he had practiced earlier.
After tearing through the skeletons he had finally made it to the area the old man stood at. Adam's eyes were filled with pure rage as he was about to rush forward when he was suddenly surrounded by skeletons again, the old man had used some of his essence to create more from broken bones nearby. Using the momentary distraction he fire one of his signature giant green beam which hit Adam and sent him tumbling into the battlefield once more.
Their battle of strength went on for a good bit of time, however upon realizing it won't get him anywhere, God's guard pulled the zombie in before kicking it in the chest. The kick was powerful enough to send the zombie back to the location the battle had begun. God's guard ran after the zombie intending to end things once and for all and the zombie had the exact same mindset. Seeing the golden being run towards it, the zombie did what had been successful so far. It grabbed the body of it's dead comrade and started spinning with it before releasing it at the perfect moment where the being almost reached it. God's guard fell to the ground as the zombie giant walked over, grabbed the body of the other zombie giant and started beating him with it. With every impact of the zombie body, God's guard lost its golden glow as it dimmed down with every hit.
The skeletons had started gathering at their location. The task that was manageable before now seemed impossible as the skeletons started slowly overwhelming them. Seeing that this might be the end Nathaniel slowly accepted his fate but refused to go down without a fight. Then, as if the heavens themselves refused to let him die, there was a blinding flash of golden light.
Adam had just landed in the sea of skeletons. He had enough of this, he was no longer going to conserve his essence. Just like before, a large amount of essence started to converge around him but before the transformation could be completed, a blinding flash of golden light covered the entire battlefield.
Old man Noland had an uneasy feeling after he sent Adam flying and it wouldn't go away no matter how hard he tried. He decided to play it safe because of this feeling so he formed an energy shield around himself. Not a moment too soon as a blinding flash of golden light covered the entire battlefield.
The zombie had been pounding the golden being for a while now and the being had lost all luster. Suddenly, from the center of God's guard's chest a golden light erupted, covering the entire battlefield. God's guard had just died. Following the rules of its clones it had exploded. The problem was it had grown to the size of a three story building.
An instant later the flash of golden light disappeared. What followed was a gigantic explosion that decimated everything on the battlefield. What was left were bones, an old man surrounded by bones in a shield formation which was covered by an energy shield, Adam who was completely unharmed, Noir who was completely unharmed and Nathaniel who had been shielded somewhat by Noir but still badly injured.
