The story opens with a scientist with a name tag labeled Julius in a laboratory. Next to him is the periodic table of elements. To his left is a big machine that has a huge microscope focused on a single point. This new model of microscopic is able to see atoms as small dots.
Julius-"Still can't see them in much detail"
Coworker-"still being able to see them at all is some super good progress"
Julius-"well there is still so much left to do"
Coworker-"well I'm going home and you should to it's already midnight and I'm tired"
Julius-"but think about it if we can better understand atoms and learn more about how they function we could even discover the 23rd state of matter"
Coworker-"well I don't want to have to discover my 23rd cup of coffee to stay up any longer"
Julius-"fine I'll go head home too then"
Coworker-"finally"
After closing up the lab the two of them head home however it is a very stormy night. Julius comes up to a light where he would cross the street.
Coworker-"hey Julius are you ever scared of getting struck by lightning"
Julius-"of course not the odds of getting struck by lightning is only 1 in 15,000 and only 10% of those who get struck die from it"
Just then a very bright light appears which turns out to be a truck that then runs him over. A lesson is shown that says to always look both ways when you cross the street.
Julius's coworker is shown have a horrified face screaming "oh my..." then cuts off.
Julius opens his eyes screaming. We see this next scene in Julius's POV
Julius-"wait wait don't hit... me... oh my god I'm dead! No no no no"
Voice-"hello Julius"
Julius-"nope no godly angel or anything just send me back alright I'm not doing this right now"
Voice-"you have now been reincarnated"
Julius-"I don't want to be reincarnated I want to go back"
Voice-"it's too late you have already been reincarnated into another world"
Julius-"what do you mean I have already been reincarnated into another world I don't see anything here-"
Just then an object flies past his point of view.
Julius-"woah what was that"
Voice-"that was another atom flying past you"
Julius-"are you telling me you reincarnated me into a single atom"
Voice-"yes that is correct"
Julius-"is this some kind of cosmic joke I was short before but seriously"
Voice-"this was determined to be the ideal form for you, you spent your life learning more about atoms so now you can receive first hand experience"
Julius-"well sorry if I don't want to spend the rest of my existence as the smallest object in the entire universe"
Voice-"incorrect there are subatomic particles smaller than atoms"
Julius-"yeah I know that I don't need you lecturing me I already went through that back at university"
Voice-"would you like me to explain your new reality"
Julius-"no just leave me be"
Voice-"this world functions on a mana based system-"
Julius-"I just said! Wait mana as in magic?"
Voice-"that is correct"
Julius-"...continue..."
Voice-"this world functions on a mana based system where mana is used to activate skills, these skills fall into different categories: (basic skills, support skills, elemental skills, and special skills)"
Julius-"is there a skill to get me back to my world"
Voice-"that skill is not in your skill inventory"
Julius-"well what skills are in my skill inventory"
Voice-"your skills are, basic skills (scan, regenerate), elemental skills (lightning, earth), support skills (heal), special skills (gravity), you also have stats such as (health, speed, strength, mana, stamina, perception, range, and intelligence) these stats raise when you level up and can be further increased by using skill points which you also gain by leveling up"
Julius-"ok well what level am I right now"
Voice-"everyone starts at level 1 however due to your insignificant size you are only level 0.01"
Julius-"of course I am"
Voice-"species in this world are separated into two groups, intelligent life and monsters"
Julius-"which one am I"
Voice-"you can't really be placed into either"
Julius-"you said I could level up so how would I do that"
Voice-"there are three ways to level up, first is by killing monsters, second is by training, and third is by unlocking new skills"
Julius-"well I can't kill any monsters like this so I guess I'll try unlocking new skills and training"
Voice-"very well good luck to you Mr.Julius"
Julius-"alright lets get see what these skills can do"
Julius begins using his skills
Julius-"activate earth skill: create pebble"
A molecule forms in-front of him.
Julius-"activate basic skill: scan"
Voice-"the molecule is calcium carbonate which would have been used to make a limestone rock"
Julius-"I wonder what atom I am, basic skill self scan"
Voice-"you possess 8 protons, 8 neutrons, and 8 electrons, you are an oxygen atom"
Julius-"activate lightning skill: static shock"
A large burst of yellow glowing electrons was created and shot out in front of him.
Julius-"activate gravity skill: levitation"
The stone atom is pushed away from him.
Voice-"that concludes the amount of skills you currently possess you are also now out of mana and must wait 10 seconds for it to refill"
Julius-"only ten seconds"
Voice-"it is because your mana amount is incredibly small"
Julius-"alright well let's try this now, earth skill: create pebble"
A molecule appears.
Julius-"now lightning skill: static shock"
The molecule is destabilized due to the surplus of electrons.
Julius-"next it's gravity skill: levitation"
The destabilized atoms are pulled apart from the molecule.
Julius-"and finally support skill: heal"
The molecule now reforms and becomes stable again.
Voice-"you have unlocked multiple new skills, special skill: molecular destruction, special skill: molecular reconstruction, and new gravity sub skill: inverse gravity. You have also reached level 0.04 and received a stat increase along with 3 new skill points"
Julius-"if I put those skill points into perception will I be able to see other people"
Voice-"if you put ten skill points into perception you can unlock eagle eyes and see a far greater distance"
Julius puts the 4 points into perception and can now see much farther but still can't make out any objects.
Julius-"alright guess it's time to conduct some more experiments"
