Alyssane turned slowly.
Kazmun was already there, one more step and he would have been too close, she subconsciously moved back, surprised by how quickly he had closed the distance between them.
"When did you…" she asked, but her words faltered when his hand took hers.
A faint heat crept up her neck as Alyssane nervously glanced towards the queen, Mysaria's expressions were hard, the calm demeanor slipping ever so slightly.
But without a word, she walked away.
"You're bleeding," Kazmun stated in a low voice, bringing Alyssane's attention back to him, she blinked in surprise.
She could not feel any pain, however, as she followed his gaze, to her hand, over the faint silver scar, her breaths caught up in her throat.
It was not bleeding as terribly as the last time, but there was a thin line of crimson on her skin, bleeding without a pause. Her gaze clouded with confusion.
