The Grand Hall was bathed in a deep, serene blue.
It was a large round hall, surrounded by lush gardens on the outside. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling made of glass, their myriad of lights casting a soft, shimmering glow over the room, like stars caught in a midnight sky. The marble floor, on the other hand, was a large gilded mosaic depicting a joint illustration of the sun and moon.
The air was alive with soft murmurs of conversations, and the gentle strains of an orchestra, weaving an enchnating atmosphere around the guests.
Alyssane took tense steps through the large ornate doors.
She could feel several gazes turn her way, lingering, making it harder to remain in that place a moment longer. But Alyssane had grown a thick enough skin to ignore the stares. She forced her expressions to remain calm as she walked towards the far end of the hall, towards the raised dais that commanded attention.
