A shiver brought Alyssane out of the dream
She gasped, sitting upright in her clothes damp with cold sweat. Her vision was hazy, her head swam as she blinked away the remnants of the battlefield.
The taste of blood still lingered in her mouth, as did the chill of the deathly winter. Alyssane curled her hands into fists and grimly stared at nothing.
'What was I doing among the fallen warriors?' A heavy knot tightened in her stomach, "Why Harrenheim?" Alyssane whispered out loud.
They were the legendary empire known for forging warlords and being undefeated. They were also a formidable foe of Sol Valeria. The relationships between the two empires had remained tense throughout centuries.
But lately, even the facade of diplomacy had shattered. The war had finally broken out, and things were becoming worse.
And yet, for some reason, no one in the palace talked about it. Alyssane wouldn't have known either if it was not for Nora.
