Chapter 9 - Killing Spree!

Two hours went past like a second. The Rn-Cobra|III landed.onbare ground, blowing the trees from the roots and dust dispersing.

Adam was really stunned to see where they were at. It was a beautiful place actually compared to what he was imagining previously.

"Alright guys we're here already. We've only two months tofinish up then we return. we only have one way to contact HQ and that's through a lockdown comms, which I guessed we wouldn't be needing."

Rhian's words didn't hold much value to the boys one bit since they were expecting this hunt to go as planned.

"So, we're going to begin the hunt right? I'm getting excited already. Let's break a guys!"

John said before unstrapping the green colored strip bandage on his fist before flexing it and he ran into the woods to begin his hunt.

"I'm coming too you scum!" Adam also didn't wait, and instead moved as quick if not faster tha john went. He was actually suprised how he accomplished thin with his current standing which led him to think:

"Maybe this is the usual speed for people my level, I guess." Or maybe not actually. Who knew if his system buffed his upgrade, or even exists.

Thirty minutes past-by when Adam finally caught up to john deep in the woods. To Adam's suprise, the were a horde of beasts blocking them off their path.

These were insectoid beasts also affected by super-genetic mutations. Funnily enough, they wouldn't be any issue if only it didn't move in monstrous gang.

Krriikk! krriikk!

This colony of ants with white carapace made of synthetic polysaccharide exoskeleton had a menacing number that made adam to catch cold feet almost instantly looked at the duo without fear. It was clear that mutated beasts had developed over the years, but seeing this ones with the intelligence of a medieval human was something striking, when you observe they are just basic tiers. One could call them the pinnacle of basic tier.

"Are you ready for games, Adam? Because I get the feeling that this would be fun. I have never tested my combat prowess in army confrontation."

John expressed his excitement on how he wanted to test his limits, which Adam agreed with as he thought the same.

"I had always been in from the start. Seems like apetizer is ready for the sreving."

After that remark, Adad charged his ability into his excited state at a regulated level, something he had no idea of and buzzed at the horde with a bright blue lightning left a second behind at his trail.

Bang! Splatter!

Before the Dorina ant could assemble it's defence, it was splattered into meatjuice with the first and only punch he unleached.

"So killing helps increase experience points and aid me in becoming stronger as quick as a without stress."

Adam's brain was so fast like his reflexes that it took him nanoseconds to understand what was going on, and crumble the fear in his heart. He could kill a beast with a punch so why fear a horde of the same thing?

....

John killed hundreads within an hour, which was impressive to say, but he didn't do it like Adam did. The very idea of leveling up from killing made Adam turn perverse in doing it. His movements were strange and his speed was abnormal to an extent John was already suspecting something was amiss.

"This is impossible! His strength increases with every three to five kills and he keeps going now to thirty to thirty-five kills. He's nearly killed a thousand already!"

John was thinking critically when a horde of giant ants attacked with their lethal weapon body. It was a close call from the reaper at this moment

Swish! Blam!

John continued by dodging the attack before launching a critical counter-attack strike, outright decimating the his region.

Things weren't playing well enough for Adam after his massacre on the horde and he was reaching his limits in this battle. What was perculiar was that this horde had a secret ability. They could assimilate the energy from their dead companions into theirs, thus making the harder to kill.

"You leave me no choice!"
