"You leave me no choice!"
Seconds ago, Adam was standing on his two feet while panting heavily. He had consumed a lot of energy trying to destroy this horde once and for all, butall efforts were proving futile to an extent ge couldn't hide his frustrations.
After discovering this perverse ability of the horde, Adam had concluded that this battle would need to stop before it turns bad.
"It doesn't rain, but it pours! I need to finish them in one fell swoop. You leave me no choice!"
Beaaam! Booom!
A heavy pillar of energy which resembled a plasma beam with lightning crackles hit the hord and destroyed the environment completely beyond recognition.
"Alas, no more horde! I...I....th...in..k...I..." Adam couldn't complete his sentence beforehe passed out. He had overworked himself past his limits. This was why it wasn't odd for something to happen to him.
Two hours went like a baloon in the wind but it still felt like eternity to the trio.
Adam awoke after nearly killing himself when he went past his limits and over-multiplied his power output for one technique. It was the most foolish way to deal with situations. And Rhian was right there, ready to reprimand him for his suicidal carelessness.
"Foolish Scum! You went all the way as to increase your power output above your physical and mental limits. Are you going to abandon your life be almost detonating yourself in the heat of battle."
Adam couldn't help but scruntinize his palms. He didn't realize this from the beginning and started to think of what was really happening.
'My memories, it's like nothing of sort happened and I just skip that time frame. It's similar to what I felt when I fought Rhian for the first time.'
Adam was having problems of personality due to certain memories being blank. He now had one option, and that was to seek explanation from his two partners.
"I...I...Can't remember anything. I'm confused. What did I do when I fought you, Rhian?" Rhian was stunned rooted to her position. This was something she was expecting, and all of a sudden, she gets to start the story.
"Well...Well you beat me up while your aura kept skyrocketting, and you said: 'I'm different from you. I wanna control my life, Rhian. Choose, your freedom, or your death?'"
John felt like his head was imploded at this moment. He couldn't believe for starters that his buddy battered this lady during a duel. It was like a mine bomb, waiting to get detonated.
Not only that, his buddy actually said some crazy line like a villains epilogue. This had the most effect on his mental health as he couln't piece two andtwo together, so he decided to laugh it off.
"Haha-ha! Oh-my! Never would have thought cold crimson would make a joke this funny. That's really crazy,and I wouldhave died if thiswas real, right?"
Contrary to what he thought, Rhian gazed at him menacingly, not with a cold stare, but a savage ghastly and murderous gaze. This made John feel like his life was being threatened, which he subconciously walked back two steps.
"And I can't remember a thing about those scenes. I guess I have to be careful from now on." Adam tried his best to remain focused right now, but he felt like he couldn't control himself the slightest.
"I think it's a side effect of the new fluid, attractions and nanites. My hypothesis may be proven by the changes happening to your physique and appearance. For instance, your hair changed its color into a silky silver-blue at some part. And your pupils are partially bright amber."
John's remark almost knock sense off Adam's skull. It was one thing to have sipped memories, but it was another by having slight changes on the body and inside.

Rhian didn't wait for Adam to respond before departing into the woods again with John to go and fetch the beast crystals. While Adam was left to himself to think things through.
"Does this mean I wasn't born quadriplegic?"
